he's taking a beating on cats illustrated too

I don't understand the vitriol as of yet. I'm ambivalent about this team now but his approach is high risk /high reward. Those that complained about Tubby's approach was low risk/low reward and they ran him off because of it.

I just don't think you can have it both ways.

I'm wondering if Houston will storm the court after beating Memphis...I really don't think there are enough people in the crowd to do so, though.

Senile ole bastard...heheheh...love that. I love the frustration and bile coming from certain UK fans.

This is the monster you wanted. Every year UK wins the recruiting national title and with all these "NBA" players, UK should dominate. It should be every other teams goal to work on finishing 2nd each year.

What's the problem?

I wish we had the answer.....like hiring Tom Crean.

Usually it takes time to craft a championship squad. After the years of misery UK fans suffered under Tubby (although in fairness, they were very sweet years for many in here and elsewhere), they're ready to throw the dice on a one year run, esp. after the success of that program since Cal got there. The Wall/Cousins teams was an aberration (one I was happy to see, of course). That team should've won it all. Not sure about the team that lost in the FF to UConne, did they overachieve to get there or underachieve not to win it all? I'm sure opinions vary. The NC squad was also legit, although I would've loved a rematch with a healthy Marshall, but even then, I'd say it was a coin toss b/w those two teams. Last year was a disaster, and this year's team seems to be underachieving although not grossly, and they still have the talent to make a run. One and done's make for exciting off-season speculation and hope, and they might even make a run, but I still like having some upperclassmen in the mix...

Cal's recruited a whole new bunch of OADs.... We'll see the same results as this season, especially after Calipari runs 6 ro 7 to the pros. No upperclassmen to help next year. This OAD stuff is getting old and the natives are getting restless. Sorta hoping I'll see a headline soon about Cal to the Knicks.

that's not true - While I am frustrated that Cal refuses to use the bench to keep his stars in check, Poy will be back, Lee, Willis and Hawkins. I can't imagine that both of the twins will have draft stock. The only locks at this point are Stein, Randle and Young, and Young is trying damn hard to not be a lottery pick with his selfish play and horrid shot selection. So Cal will have a solid team returning next year without the incoming class.

The big question will be- will we have a PG that is any good because Cal's teams are so dependent on a playmaker PG to drive the offense, that without one, they just play street ball.

Cal put together one kickass And1 team this year - but not so much as a cohesive disciplined college team.

With a healthy Noel, I think last year's team was better.

UC just doesnt have enough people who can shoot the ball. Great defense yes, horrible offense.
