I am clearly not a Boeheim fan, but he did the right thing. After that call, he knew there was no way he would be allowed to win this game. Even if he had a chance, coaches tank games all the time by benching players to teach them a lesson for the rest of the season. He knows he will most likely face a Duke, North Carolina, or Virginia and he had to send a message to the refs that the hierarchy in the new ACC has changed.

Wilbon seemed to think that once Boeheim was in the moment, he decided to ride it out to send a message.

I buy that. Everything about the situation occurred to him instantaneously and he just went with it. No way do I think it was premeditated in the least...

I do believe his mindset was that he wasn't walking out of here a winner no matter what - and that speaks to what we've been arguing with Spacer about.

He might've thought that after the foul call, but I doubt he thought they had no chance whatsoever. But in the millisecond after he started his tirade, he instantly calculated that the chances were going to be so slim that it was worth just rolling with the tirade to send a message that Cuse wasn't going to lay down for this type of shit, blah blah blah...

From Roy's radio show:

On end to Duke/Syracuse game Saturday night and the issue of making critical charge calls:

“It was a sad way to end such a really good basketball game because it was a really good basketball game. It’s sad that it has to end like that. At first, I thought 'wow that is not a good call.' Then you look at it on replay and it’s a lot closer than I thought originally and the whole bit but it’s the kind of thing that you hate it to end on a call like that. I was impressed by Jimmy’s (Boeheim) quickness and his stamina and all that but it’s a tough way to end a basketball game. You can look at that play three different ways and you can have three or four different opinions."

6'5" shooting guard suppose to sign with Kentucky this week. I'm sure Calipari has already promised the kid he'll make him another one of his OADs.

fuck...

That shit-ball, horse-shit, rag-tag AAC conferance is the strongest hoops conferance in college basketball. No conferance is even remotely close to them in overall depth. HALF of all the teams in that conferance will make the tourney. Cincinnati, Louisville, SMU, UConn, and Memphis. They all get in. All. Can't be stopped. They all play each other at the end so I'm guessing all of them end up with 23+ wins.

The ACC? Okay, Duke, UNC, Syracuse, Pitt, UVa and well that's it. The conferance has five more teams than the AAC and they send the same number to the tourney. Sad. SEC sends Kentucky and Florida. Thats it! Pac-12 sends Arizona and UCLA and maybe Colorado. A-10 sends St Louis and maybe ZooMass. Big-XII sends Kansas and ??? Iowa State?? maybe no one else? Big-T1N(12) sends U-M, Michigan State, Wisky, and Ohio State and thats it. That leaves a lot of bubble room for some of these mid-major teams that don't close the deal in their conference championships.

without the context of knowing what transpired before the video, that kid should get the hammer.

Just before the foul was called, the Perry Central kid raised his elbows up and made contact with the black kid's chin. Guess he didn't care to much for that.

kansas/texas/iowasstate/oklahoma/kstate are shooins at this point

west virgina/okie state and baylor are bubble teams

I'll give you these

Kansas, Iowa State,

I'll give you one of these

Texas or Oklahoma

I don't think these 18-win Big-XII teams will have the resume at mid-March to justify bubbling in. I saw ESPN's bracketology, I just disagree with it. Indiana State will win their last two games and if Mizzouri State knocks off Wichita State in the MVC tourney (fat chance, but if they do) that conference sends 3 teams to the tourney. Towson AND Delaware might BOTH make the tourney (has the CAA ever sent two???) Gonzaga, BYU, AND Saint Mary's are all going to the tourney (probably.) Fuck, even Stephen F Austin AND Incarnate Word could BOTH make the tourney (Incarnate Word only lost to SFA by two points, they could beat them in their conferance tourney.) The country is much too deep with too many mid-major teams that will win 23 or 24 but wont win their own conference tourneys making things realy difficult for the K-States, the Baylors, and the Okey-States of the world. But it is still a little early to tell.

I am just impressed with the AAC this year. I know that conference is very top heavy, but I didn't think the "top" of the conferance would be "half" the conference.

Not right now, no. They are playing in tournament mode RIGHT NOW! They are thinking every game for them is sudden death. If you play like that in the regular season, you have an edge in the tourney.
