Too late, I went to Best Buy and got one, now I've got 4 bars in the den. I would thank your for solving my problem, but I can tell that you have not only cut all ties with me now, but declared immortal enmity. That saddens me. But at least I won't have to worry about losing the connection if I'm sitting in the den whilst sass warring with ye. Seriously, though, thanks...

BTW, eCat really put me onto the range extender several months ago, I went out and got one, but then it asked for a password or some shit and I got all pissed b/c I didn't know the password so I immediately took it back. Come to find out, the password is printed on a card on the bottom of the router. DOH!! Also, the little geek at Best Buy (he kept referring to me as "my friend" as in "I think you should try this first, my friend, and if that doesn't work come back and we'll try something else". He called me "my friend" about 6 times in the 5 minutes I talked to him). He also thought I shouldn't have any problem setting up another modem and router in the front room, but he said I should try the wireless extender first (my friend) and see what happens. Finally, he recommended a different router than the new one I got a couple of weeks ago. He prefers the Net Gear N600, I have the Belkin N600, I figured one brand of N600 was no different than any other brand, kinda like buying a 60 watt lightbulb, I don't give a shit which chinese factory it came out of, but no, my friend told me that the Net Gear N600 was a gigabyte, or maybe it was 1000 gigabytes, I can't remember, but at any rate, he said it jacked out a much better signal than the Belkin. It's the same price, so I'm going to take the Belkin back and try the one with 10,000 gigabytes that my friend recommended. Or I might even just set up my old router upon the antenna of which I stuck a little concave cardboard and aluminum foil doily/reflector thingy that I configured myself (I told my friend at Best Buy about that, he heartily approved and said that was just as good as anything they make today). At any rate, problem solved, but I still haven't given up on the dream of one day having the modem and router in the front room...

I went to best buy a week ago and bought a new router & then waited an hour at twc tri-country for a new modem. When did hedge become such a diva?

What type of router did you get? Did you get the 100,000 gigabyte Net Gear router? Because if you didn't, I suggest you go exchange it. Nothing beats the NetGear !00K gig router, my friend. I can promise you that...

Netgear N900. I can now watch you make lame posts in realtime. 3870 sq. ft house and no drop off in any corner of the house.

Good job. Good effort.

Serious note - Glad to see you got it resolved.

Now kindly STFU.

"3870 sq. ft house and no drop off in any corner of the house."

Damn, a 3870 sq. ft. cardboard house? Impressive. Not much in the way of impediment when it comes to the wireless waves, though. FWIW, I am going back to get the NetGear router...

Hey now, I use the best cardboard on the market. Straight from the Kroger dumpster. You should be so lucky.

FWIW, I've been really happy so far with the Netgear router. Even my phone is a hell of a lot faster. Fuck 4G.

I think you'll be happy with it. A head's up - to fully upgrade to Android 4.01 you're going to have to update it about 4 times and it takes about 30 minutes total. After that you are good to go.

Yeah, I read that in the reviews so I'm expecting that. No biggie. If she doesn't like it I have a new toy.
