I quit Twitter a year ago. Couldn't avoid politics and the algorithm sucks. My new reporter last fall, a 25-year-old kid, tweets about 200 times a day, a lot about NC State, the Carolina Hurricanes and KC Chiefs and Royals. After I interacted with him a few times, my feed was full of suggestions from those things. I just threw away my account that I started in 2008 and haven't looked back. I would get rid of Facebook too but it's the only way to keep up with relatives. Social media is worthless. We're better off without it. Probably better off without the internet too.

I'm with on you being better off without twitter.
Facebook hasn't taught me anything new, 90% of the people I interact with on there I knew before Facebook. If they were an asshole before Facebook, it hasn't changed any perceptions about them.
Just everyone is fatter now.

Well, I unfollowed about half of my Facebook friends because they weren't interesting, either bitching about politics or just not interesting. I come on social media to be amused, dammit! But most of the shit I see now are FB-generated ads or suggestions.
I did have a Twitter account that was private, no followers, didn't follow anyone, so I could just use it to look up scores, info, etc. It was sort of fun because the app didn't know what to do with me. It was desperate to make me engage and I wouldn't do it. I finally just threw that out too because fuck Twitter, esp. with the new guy running it.

That was for e but it works with you too. I use twitter for sports only but I like linking the politics ones here for the Butthurts.
