These Kentucky brats don't handle losing very well
they actually had that kid on KSR's radio show this morning.
I agree, Harrison should have just walked off. The kid is just being a fan after a big win from what I understand. But he does have the look of someone that is about to get their ass kicked.

Funny how UK fans bitch about bad calls when usually when they are at home, they usually make more free throws (even with their shitty FT %) than their counterparts even take.
Good night for college basketball last night.
I thought it was Bob(by) Knight who said that the goal of any good basketball team was to attempt more free throws than the other team made. Wasn't that the IU mantra for years? We shoot more free throws because we attack the rim and play defense the proper way, moving our feet instead of grabbing with our hands? Was it true then/now, or bullshit then/now?

make more than the other team attempts, yes.

That was what Dean Smith always said ... along with we graduate 97% of our players whether they can read or not.
OK, OK, I'll admit I'm feeling charitable toward eCat after UK lost.

How can UI even be in the disussion of the elite programs like UK, UNC, Dook and Kansas when they rush the floor every time they beat a directional school......wait....hasn't UNC, Dook and Kansas rushed the floor also?? Hmmmm...guess Kentucky is the only one that can be labeled 'elite' since they've NEVER rushed the court.

speaking of that, here is today's story about UNC
http://www.newsobserver.com/2014/01/15/ ... elors.html
I especially liked this part
That class, and more than 200 others that are now either confirmed or suspected of having never met, are now being used as evidence in a lawsuit by attorneys representing college athletes who want a cut of the revenues when their names, images and likenesses are sold by universities.
200 classes.
good god almighty

Yes and someday Kentucky will burn to the ground because of Teflon Cal. And when that happens I will be the loudest voice to the NCAA to black death that program for a decade and will personally drive to Lexington and in the middle of town square plant a Giant IU flag on the ground. It will be a joyous day for all to be had.
Not a matter of if.....just when......

that's obviously a sentiment many people outside Lexington has - but there is a difference - unlike UNC that just sticks their head in the sand and screams LALALALALALA whenever anyone brings up their cheating, UK is *constantly* asking about players in class.
case in point - Julius Randle was in his 8am class yesterday after an OT game in Arkansas the night before. Am I naive enough to believe that nothing is going on at UK - no, but I feel pretty comfortable we aren't going to get hit with academic fraud or paying players.

Will that before or after you guys rush the court? And will the banner you hang in Assembly Hall to recognize UK's demise be red or blue?

Titus...
As great as the end of regulation and all of overtime was, the first 38 minutes were unbearable, primarily because it might have been the worst-officiated game I've ever seen. Sixty fouls were called on the night, there were a handful of reviews that took forever to resolve, and the refs blew several other calls (particularly awful were the over-and-back call on Andrew Harrison and Julius Randle getting away with hitting a defender in the face with both elbows).
A simplistic approach would be to bump Kentucky out of the most powerful power rankings in college basketball because it lost to an unranked team. But the correct approach is to acknowledge that Arkansas was desperate for a win, Bud Walton Arena is a tough place to play, and the officiating travesty resulted in a game that resembled sarcastaball more than it did basketball. I don't want to take anything away from the Hogs, and Kentucky certainly needs to improve (getting the whole team mentally engaged would be a great start), but Tuesday was the kind of game for which John Calipari should just throw the film away and move on to the next one. Despite the loss, Kentucky is playing pretty well right now, and if the NCAA tournament started tomorrow, you'd be out of your mind to think that 12 teams would have a better shot at winning it all than the Cats.
------------
like I said, it takes alot for me to bring refs into the mix after a loss (or a win) but this game was an exception.
