Some whining fool over at KSR has started a thread that has grown to 2 pages thanks to so many like-minded whining UK fans whose subject is that Carolina's record vs. UK is tainted b/c most of our wins have come when we had good teams and UK was down and that we planned it that way. This idiot is using FF and NC years as the main standard for "good" years, but even when somebody pointed out to him that two of our FF years came at the expense of UK in the regional finals, i.e., had UK simply won those games, then it would've been a FF year for them, not us, he still bulldogs ahead, much like those bulls in eCat picture...

Tainted record? Dean was whippin' Rupp's ass when the Carolina Program was crippled early in his career. And Adolph already had 4 NC's.

North Carolina reserve guard Leslie McDonald has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and could miss the coming season.

The school said Friday that McDonald was injured during a summer league game in Durham on Thursday night.

McDonald averaged seven points per game off the bench and was second on the team with 51 3-pointers.

actually, having caught the mcdonald's and jordan all-star games on re-play early this a.m., mcdonald's injury may've been a blessing in disguise for team chemistry, because hairston and mcadoo are going to take somebody's minutes on the wings. since i don't see barnes sitting unless there's foul issues, that seems to leave l.mcd. as the odd man out

Injuries suck, but I actually agree with a lot of what you said, CR. McDonald was a streaky player, who rarely brought it against the tougher competition. Word was he'd stepped his game up in summer league ball, but I still think Bullock (recovering from knee surgery) and Hairston are better than Leslie. And Roy does much, much better with a set rotation of 8-9 players than he does with a Super Bowl Shuffle of trying to appease 10 or more guys demanding playing time.

"When you look at Roy Williams' track record, I believe in 2005 and 2009, when they won the titles, they were projected to win it. They just went out and dominated and won it in 2005. In 2009, they went out again. They backed up their ranking. He embraced that. I would be shocked if anybody doesn't pick them preseason No. 1. I take UNC. I know one thing, if it were the NBA and best four of seven, nobody beats UNC. But that's the beauty of the college game. It's just one game."
