At some point before I am old, video games will have completely replaced dominoes, cards, board games etc in the common spaces (and in the rooms) of nursing homes and far greater than just 20% will play every day.

As for you asking PT to name someone that doesn't believe he has a right to own a gun, it wouldn't matter because in true Tick form you would just claim he was lying anyway without having one clue who he does or doesn't know.
I believe prof may know a genuine gun-grabber or two, or at least somebody else here does.

There's only two persons here I'm confident have invented characters to gin up their side of a debate. And since IB has taken his leave..

hello
If you think I have ever invented a character then you would as usual be flat out 100% wrong and if you would like I can introduce you to anyone I have mentioned that you would like.

The problem with the 2nd Amendment as a defense against tyranny is that the Founders had no conception of how wide the gap between the technology possessed by the State and that owned by individual citizens would get. Nor did they envision the existence of a huge standing army.
that is only a tiny part of it.

the main part is that the founders didn't want "the government" to be the only ones to have the power of FORCE

A House bill introduced this week seeks to apply stiffer penalties to retailers who sell or rent adult-rated video games to minors. The Video Ratings Enforcement Act submitted by House Rep. Jim Matheson (D-Utah) would require ratings labels based on all video games and ban the sale of video games rated Mature or Adults Only to minors. Any violators would face a $5,000 fine.
That bill has a snowball's chance of ever passing. There is virtually no lobby in favor of it (at least outside Utah).

Video games and movies need to be more tightly regulated.

Guns should be freely available to anyone who wants one. Background checks and even an age requirement? Unconstitutional

Seems like those two knuckleheads in Boston bought big fat fireworks & used the gunpowder in their Paula Dean bombs. There goes your right to buy fireworks without a background check.

FTR, the background checks don't bother me all that much. Yes, they are a potential database for confiscation, but that ship has already sailed. For example, Illinois requires firearm owners to own a state issued "firearm owner's ID card," which I had. When you apply for it, you are required to submit a passport-type photo which will ostensibly be part of the card when they mail it to you.

When my card came in the mail, it included a note saying the photo I submitted did not meet the required parameters. So they used my photo from my driver's license photo from the DMV - a completely different government department. Everybody I know with a FOID card got the same note and photo.

That tells me all the databases they need to identify gun owners are already there in case some future government wants to confiscate (like they tried in NOLA right after Katrina). Any new background checks won't make much difference anyway.

They are more dangerous than guns themselves. They influence childrens, while guns are harmless tools, useful for all sorts of things.

Precisely. It's movie violence that causes murder

I haven't heard anybody advocating for the government to impose new limits on movie violence.
