Knowing the speed of the post office, the letter to the senator was probably an environmentalist wacko trying to get the letter there by World Forestry Day...

Ricin letters and taped conversations are vexing in that there's no clear indication of how those incidents can further line the pockets of our members of congress. Maybe some more high dollar security contracts will follow...yeah, probably something of that sort.
