When we were in high school Coors wasn't available in North Carolina, but you could get it in Virginia. Occasionally somebody would bring back a case or two and we thought it was very exotic. I forgot about Rolling Rock. My dad used to drink that. Like Little Kings, they offered it in a 7 oz. bottle. There's still an empty 7 oz. bottle of Rolling Rock sitting by the sink in the utility room at my dad's house...
I remember my dad talking about how one of the businessmen in Goldsboro would have Coors bootlegged to Goldsboro during the 70's. People would pay top dollar for it like it was a delicacy.
They didn't just come up with the the plot of Smokey and the Bandit out of thin air...
In the 1970s, Coors was not pasteurized. It was wonderful but had a very limited shelf life, very short before the beer went to shit. So the company lobbied the federal government to prohibit sales east of the Mississippi River so that it didn't go bad over long distance transport. That was on top of the fact that you needed special trucks with chilled trailers to deliver. That was #1.
#2 was that Coors didn't have very many facilities across the country to manufacture their beer. It was just Colorado.
Both #1 and #2 have changed. It was special in 1977. Not so much anymore. So, now you can truck in anywhere.

We couldn’t get Coors in Memphis in the mid 80’s, but we could cross the river into Arkansas and buy it in West Memphis. We drove over and bought a couple of cases one Saturday.
I think that’s the last time I drank Coors. Just give me a bottled water…I’ll pass on the headache.

When I was a kid, my dad drank Busch...not Busch Light...just Busch...
He must have got it when it was 'Busch Bavarian Beer'. I imagine much of the customer base didn't know what Bavarian meant. AB dropped it from the name in 1979.

At Ole Miss, the Kroger in Oxford sold 30 packs of Stroh’s and Stroh’s Light, so that was the choice more often than not.
Heh. I remember going into the Harris Teeter by my apartment one time and seeing that they had Coors and Coors Light on sale for $9.99 per case (24 pack), and I packed my Nissan Maxima trunk to the point the damn rear end sagged.
So instead of sagging to the left like it always does, the back lowered too

I thought you took viagara and your dick got hard whether you wanted it to or not
I have since heard (on ESPN talking about this) that you actually have to want to have sex, I didn't realize it worked that way

I'm pretty sure people have the impression that "Viagra makes your dick hard whether you want it or not" only because of the "call your doctor if you have an erection lasting more than 4 hours" side effect.

I took it once just b/c of course I'm going to, it made me feel like I'd just sniffed Rush. Not the nitrous-like rush, but the headache-y feeling after the rush wears off. Didn't like it...

Loved that stuff and liquid paper. And those old school worksheets hot off the press.

My old doctor grew up partying with my older cousins and was a cool guy. I got him to give me a couple of samples one time for some sport fucking. I got shitfaced playing golf one afternoon (that emergency 9 after the round led to dire consequences…), had to take some of my aderall to keep going for dinner, drank cab at dinner and popped a viagra after for some sport fucking.
I don’t remember a lot, but I know the wife told me she would never let me take a viagra again after that night. Apparently, I had a diamond cutter for a while and kept trying to go at it.
