yea, Iowa had a lot of faith in their defense , and they should have I guess, but not going for it on 4 and 1 or whatever turns out to be mistake.

UK couldn't get to their QB very often but when they did, he got rattled pretty easily

Ole Miss wins later this evening and SEC is putting on a show

How can 4 be a median b/w too few and too many? Four is the fewest possible in any playoff scenario. Also, remember what happened to the dinosaurs....
In the pre-BCS days we had a playoff of zero teams, then we had 2-team playoff for a while. Now we're at 4 and I prefer that to 8 or 16 - though as said the existing CCG games could serve as an imperfect 1st round.

I hated it when they switched from the leather helmets.

That would be fun
1. No way it happens
2. Not even Rodgers can save this Tomlin train wreck.

That sucked. Would've been a great story for that walk-on freshman QB to win the Rose Bowl...

They’re a solid squad that needs a QB.
Hell, they were missing quite a few key players.

The SC part of me is genuinely excited about next season, but deep down I know that they will fuck this up like every other time they have had excitement outside of that brief Spurrier run from 2010-2013. Even that four year run was disappointing in that outside of the Bama win in 2010, beating UGA in 2011 and 2012 and the streak against Clemson, every time SC had the chance to show out and move the needle on a national stage, SC would fall short.

WRT UNC

It's UNC football. Fuck Hurricane Fran and that upset win against a Top 10 Syracuse team on the road in 1996 for making me care so damn much about something so shitty as UNC football. Fuck.

The team is far too soft. Obvious chemistry/attitude issues are evidenced by the lack of care shown by some players at key junctures.

Mack is winning recruiting plaudits, but even that will cease soon if player development, schematic preparation and play calling don't improve.

Jay Bateman is regarded as a very intelligent, engaging person, and his daughter suffers from some sort of complicated health issue for which UNC Children's Hospital has a renowned program. However, this is a business, and while I hate that this could affect his family, he needs to be relieved of duty. He is the defensive coordinator and safeties coach. Our safeties have regressed over the past three seasons, and our defense as a whole has regressed over the past three seasons. In addition, the team did not prepare for GT's backup qb this year -- despite the fact that the kid had seen plenty of game time -- or for SC's wildcat packages this year, and both OC's took "inferior" talent and shoved the ball down our throats all game. Bateman's defenses have never been able to stop a running quarterback since arriving at UNC, and now they make everyone look like All-Americans.

Tim Cross (DL) has serious issues in teaching defensive lineman basic ergonomic concepts such as leverage. It's pathetic to watch our defensive linemen get pushed by offensive lines on a consistent basis because the offensive linemen were lower and get off the snap quicker.

Phil Longo (OC) needs to be taught how to call a play with a quarterback under center in yard to go situations and learn that one need not run the shotgun in every short yardage situation. The team moves the ball between the 20's and puts up gaudy stats, but when it's time to play hard in short yardage and goal to go situations, there have been far too many times when UNC came up short. It's pathetic.

Stacy Searles (OL) needs to go. He had no real experience with the Air Raid -- and wasn't the first choice -- and his OL has regressed despite having consistent personnel. Yes, there have been key injuries, but this line struggles to block twists and stunts, much less block effectively when blitzed.

Ole Miss loses their QB. Hope they have a running game

they have a walk-on kicker that looks like he'd struggle to bench press 100 pounds

"they have a walk-on kicker that looks like he'd struggle to bench press 100 pounds"

He came out to try a FG at one point (came up short) and the MIF was like "look at that guy's arms, they're smaller than mine." And she was right...

True about Rodgers to San Fran. I could maybe see Denver too but SF seems like a great fit.
