Iron Mike's One Man Show
Broke boxers have forever been forced to find ways to make money. Joe Louis wrestled, Jake LaMotta did stand-up, and Mike Tyson copped. At $99 a ticket, it's a living.

He seems happy. He is down 140 pounds from his self-described "fat cokehead" high of 370. And he's in a forgiving mood, of everybody but himself.

"I'm all dressed up tonight," he said, open-palmed, "but I'm still an animal underneath."

Because eCat loves shit like this...

http://www.tnr.com/print/article/politics/crimetown-usa
There was a certain tidiness to the killings in Youngstown. Usually they happened late at night when there were no witnesses or police and only the lights from the steel furnaces still burned. Sometimes neighbors would hear the short, sharp sound of gunfire and then nothing, a silence you can't describe unless you've heard it, which if you're lucky you haven't.

Everyone suspected who the killers were--they lived in the neighborhood, sometimes just down the street--but no one could ever prove anything. Sometimes their methods were simple: a bullet to the back of the head or a bomb strapped under the hood of a car. Or sometimes, like when they got Mr. Magda, they allowed for the more dramatic, tranquilizing their victim with a stun gun and wrapping his head in tape until he could no longer breathe.

Yet the most frightening method, the one that captured the city's imagination, was the most immaculate: the disappearance of people in broad daylight. They were the city's ghosts. Police found their cars empty on the side of the street, the engines still warm, or their dinner tables still piled with food. The only sign of the killers was an artistic flourish: the dozen long-stemmed white roses victims often received just before they vanished.

So, when Lenny Strollo ordered the hit that summer night in 1996, there was no reason to believe it would go down any differently. Only months earlier, Strollo had ordered his main mob rival mowed down as he drove to work. But this time his choice of target was more brazen: the newly elected county prosecutor, Paul Gains.

Oddly enough, at least one of these people looks a bit better after a little meth...

Jim rubbed his leathery brow and tried to figure a way out. After some time, a slow smile begin to grow. There is something calming about being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. Certainly no sense in worrying about some convoluted calculus of permutations and contingencies when there are none. Erin had been right all along. There was no way Jeb was behind this.

Mayweather vs Cotto

Floyd has 50 cent & Justin Bieber with him during intros, unbelieveable

(not so much about 50, he's been there from the jump in terms of the training)

yeah...and Biebs had his whole "I kinda look like a cute lesbian" thing going in full force.

Mayweather does not knock people out, but he sure knows how to keep people interested. He probably is the only figther in boxing who can get by not being a "go for the kill" guy and still get big purses. I'm just glad the Larry Merchant beef got squashed before another near-brawl broke out between them. I expected Floyd to actually respond like Cotto did and just leave the ring immediately.

I hate myself for not having a plan at all for this fight, it kinda slipped my attention

I got a shitty pirate feed that cut out after the intros so I had to follow along via Twitter

Yeah, we went big around my part of town. My boy has a spot on the West Side of Manhattan, with a view of the river and has an indoor/outdoor rooftop with a 52" flatscreen. So, my boy hosted for the whole day, starting at 4pm. So, it was Clips, Derby and Yankees upstairs, plus one of the dudes dressed up in full Mexican regalia and brought over a pinata burro named Pedro filled with airplane liquor bottles. Then when the rooftop shut down at 10pm, we went to his spot to watch the main event. Add that up with pizzas, tri-tip, three types of Patron (and some Don Julio) and loads of beer, it was a full day.
