I dont think you understand the purpose of this thread.

My girl is 9 mos old. I choose to willfully exist in myopic ignorance until she turns 8, or so.

what I've learned is that kids that have older brothers or sisters are the ones that will fuck up your kid.

You spend 24/7 trying to protect them from the outside world and then their 8 year old friend breaks out their 17 year old brothers Hustler magazine

what I've learned from being the youngest and basically having nieces and nephews that grew up with me is that most parents don't shut the fuck up. They either ignore kids or spend all their time lecturing/teaching. I've found if you give kids time to talk, and take the time to listen (really listen) they'll tell you a whole lot implicitly or explicitly.

I'm hoping that observation remains true when my two parasites start getting a mind of their own...

this is true. I've caught myself over talking my son several times and once you do it's hard to get them back on track. I'm working pretty hard to just let him talk and listen.

So true. My wife was upset that my son was looking at pictures of naked women on the internet and told me to go talk to him about it. I was actually quite happy about it.

I probably wouldn't care whose schlong my daughter sucked. I would hate having to deal with the whining and the incessant shopping trips. my 4-year-old son is already rebelling against my wife's shopping and I haven't had to say a word to him. soon enough, she'll be doing that shit on her own and we'll be hanging out doing our thing. if he was a girl, I'd be the dude sitting on the bench at the mall with a glassy, kill-me-now stare
