Somehow I didn't think that was fear.

OF...In all honesty, if y'all wanted to put someone through these hard times, you need a "Son of Tennessee". We used Shula. I hear Phil is tanned, rested, and ready.

Oh, that's not real prickery. Sumbich was a good coach. I just think y'all should've given him another couple of years.

As soon as he started allowing Bama to beat us again, it was past time for him to go.

Not allowed, forcibly taken. Four in a row, five of the last six, six of the last ten.

I guess being a "son of Tennessee" is why y'all fired him... all things being equal, his record against Bama would be near .500 by now. There's room for y'all in the Crimson Light.

Phil owned Bama. It was only when he basically gave up and stopped trying that Bama began to make the series respectable again.

If Rat farted, it would have smelled like KY Jelly, PBR, and sadness.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

If by gave up and stopped trying you mean Bama hired Saban then HELL YEAH!

Now I'll admit that what y'all seem to call Phil's laxness combined with Saban instilling a better work ethic helped a helluva lot...

Dooley interviewed yesterday by Ivan Meisel on ESPN Radio

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/player?rd= ... id=6526975

No real new info, but good to hear Vol football talk.

That interview is a nice find. I'm really looking forward to this season for some reason. I'm feeling really optimistic about the upcomming campaign. Looking at our schedule and thinking about all the experience we have comming back, I can't help but wonder (hope?) we will limp into the SEC championship game with 4 losses under our belt. No way we win it though.

I can't help but laugh. When I clicked on the link provided for the interview, the description of the broadcast mentioned Beano Cook. LMAO!! I didn't realize that ol' tool is still alive. Is he still as full of himself as ever?

I've read some disparaging remarks about Dooley regarding the Douglas transfer. Fact is, Dooley did what he was supposed to do by looking after UT's best interests.

Best wishes and prayers to the family.

The harshness from that statement comes from the fact there is a stinging truth to it.

Shame he couldn't have straightened up though.
