Although Westdawg (for those who knew him from the old WX days) just sent me an article about an unarmed white dude who was shot by a black officer. That was encouraging. White cops were running up the score until that turn of events.
It figures that the shooting was in Salt Lake City. Everything is a bit Bizaaro there.

I don't think it's much consolation to black people...or rednecks...or at least the ones that keep getting shot/harassed.
This may be a weird question, but if any of you guys have ever been pulled over or questioned by the police, have they ever asked what you do for a living?

can't say that I have - did have my car searched once and another time I had to take the field sobriety test. I have sinced learned with age that I am not in a position of leverage when dealing with the police. Anyone who thinks they are will get educated.
However, we're in the midst of a revolution here in police abuse thanks to cell phone cameras and that leverage will improve with time.

Just say "Nun-Ya".
When they look confused, say, "Nun ya goddamned bidness!"
I also hate the, "Where are you headed tonight?" line. How is that any of their business, either?

I have. By an African American Cop no less. He was awesome. Asked me where i worked. failed the follow the pen test so he took me in. Didn't cuff me. Only told me to put them on as we pulled up to the booking station. Blew A .000 and as he was driving me back to my car apologizing all the way I only asked to flip the lights on. I didn't sue. He was doing his job.

To be totally honest, I have had my fair share with run ins with cops. Been 10 years since but I would testify in court that I was treated much better dealing with African American cops. White cops are assholes

Not exactly, but I've been asked if I'm a student.

What type of purpose does the question "where do you work?" serve? I just have never understood. Is it to just get conversation going to see how nervous or clear I am?

No, it's more, "How exactly did this dude afford a Mercedes? Wonder if he stole it or bought it with drug money?"

This is a bit remedial, but Uncle Ray does a good job here for anyone who does not quite understand - in broad terms - how the economy works. Dude is crazy, in a way, but a brilliant investor. I have adopted a lot of his principles and philosophies over the past 5 years, or so.

"Let's be honest," Vaillancourt writes. "Does anyone not believe that Congressman Annie Kuster is as ugly as sin? And I hope I haven't offended sin. If looks really matter and if this race is at all close, give a decided edge to Marilinda Garcia."

They do us no favors by withholding showing the pictures of both Kuster and Garcia. Well played on the showing of the bloated carcass of Vaillancourt, though.
