I think it shows a fine confidence in the goodness of people and the safety of the neighborhood that he felt comfortable leaving his kid in the car. I bet they used to do that all the time on Walton's Mountain. Where's Jim Bob? We left him in the car asleep. OK, that's cool...

ALWAYS call the police in a situation like that. No telling what the moron will do next if he's allowed to continue doing that.

I found this kinda odd to be stuck in the middle of an AP game report. Maybe at the end as an extraneous note, but not in the middle of the game story:

"The revelry in south Florida was marred Thursday by an accident in which the deck behind a popular sports bar collapsed during the game, spilling patrons into Biscayne Bay. Miami Dade Fire Chief David Downey said 24 people were transported to area hospitals, and that two people were in serious condition."

I think you'd open a can of worms calling the police on that guy. Sounds like he was within sight of the car most (all?) of the time, and if he was back at the car by the time the cops got there, he would lie and say he was much closer than ya'll were saying he was, that you were mistaken, blahblahblah. Not sure if it's a crime to have a child in the car while you are in sight of it...

I've open up cans of worms before. I will again.

Hey, if Jaco didn't get in trouble for hanging his kid off a 4 story balcony and that crocodile guy didn't get in trouble for dangling his kid in front of a croc, I find it hard to believe that this guy is going to get slammed for leaving his kid in a car on a cool morning within sight...

You can't leave a child unattended in a car and go jogging off. Bad things can happen. Temps elevate quickly in a car, people steal cars, the baby can vomit and aspirate, insects are drawn to formula and juice, aliens could beam him away. Whatever.

I don't care if he gets in trouble or not. Maybe he gets a warning. Maybe nothing. Having to answer to the police would make him think about it next time, though.

Also, if I see you driving drunk, I will call the police then, as well.

AA, it was very nice this morning outside, actually cool and he parked under a tree. Should he have taken the sleeping baby in it's car seat to the track? Probably. But if he wakes it there goes the run. Had it been 4:30 yes, I sure as hell would have called and probably told the guy he's a dumbass. At 7am and 64 degrees (if that, seemed cooler) I don't see the harm.

There is a big difference between those guys and this guy. They have fame and more importantly, a lot of money (well had).

Yeah, but I would say they both put their kids in harm's way infinitely more than this guy did, even though the chances were low in both of those cases..

Cops. It doesn't matter about the temperature. It's bad judgement. Suppose it wasn't even his kid? Suppose he was watching it as some kind of "manny"? Does that change your opinion?

Cops.

UNC is just having a bad year

" Patrick Ewing has a long history with the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The former NBA great was recruited by the Tar Heels out of high school, was defeated by them in the 1982 national championship game, and went his entire NBA career without winning a NBA title due in large part to former Tar Heel Michael Jordan.

On Thursday, Ewing appeared on an episode of "The Dan Patrick Show" and revealed that while North Carolina and Georgetown were his final two college choices, he choose Georgetown because of the KKK presence in North Carolina.

Heard that live. The weekend they hosted him was the same weekend they also had a kkk rally in town. He was like, fuck that and headed back home. Give it to Dean Smith though. Once Patrick told him no way in hell he steered him towards John Thompson.

Absolutely. Not even a second thought about it. Dude couldn't be troubled to delay or alter his workout so he leaves a baby -unattended- in a car? Cops. And maybe an asskicking depending on the mood I'm in.

They make strollers that you can run with. A couple of the people I jog with use them.

You see grossly erratic driving and weaving between two lanes, it's a pretty safe bet it's booze. If they're driving straight, but 40 mph under the limit, it's pot.
