OK. I know her from that 70s show but nothing else. I'm not good with names, I usually just sign a check for the amount and let them fill in the rest.

OK so now I know she's from that 70s show and is Meg. Thanks. Now when someone asks me if I know who Mila Kunis is I can say yes and then engage in what will probably turn out to be a decent conversation. Not.

I NEED NAKED PICS !!!

Interesting tidbit about Mila Kunis: she's Russin-born and moved here to the States with the family when she was small (like four or five, I believe) and didn't speak a lick of English. Picked up the language very fast and even managed to do it without the noted Russian/Eastern European flavoring.

BTW, I went home over the Xmas holidays and got to see the new Marlins' stadium up close and personal. It might be the worst-looking yard in the majors. Of course, I realize that there are probably a few cosmetic additions that haven't been included yet but still... it's a boring white almost everywhere, with no real architectural character to it. The roof is big and tacky, and the entire project just doesn't seem to fit in the area. As typical South Florida, they try to hide it (and the fact that it's in the middle of a low-income neighborhood inunudated with cheap apartment houses and duplexes) with a bunch of palm trees.

One of the positives, though, is that at least they got around to repaving NW 7th Street. For years, that road's been a pain in the ass to drive down, either because of the potholes or the barely maintained lane dividers/striping.

There's also all kinds of political upheaval over this. The Marlins have been exposed as bullshit artists in terms of their overall lack of finances (not really surprising). They were able to get the taxpayers (the cash-strapped City of Miami, in other words) to foot the majority of the stadium's bill--and they were the only goverment entity int he area to go for it, which is why the park is being built in one of the worst locations possible. If people aren't going to the games at the more centrally-located Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Dolphins/Sun Life/Landshark Stadium in northern Miami-Dade county (granted, located in a traditonally high-crime area), who the hell's going to drive all the way down to Lil' Havana from Palm beach and Broward counties?

Oh well. At least they're willing to spend more than $25-30 million a year on their payroll now.

Not as recent a picture as my live-eye observations from a couple of months ago but you get the idea.

Another view from maybe September or October.

Now, in all fairness, the area's not quite as low income as it was 5-10 years ago; theyv'e actually tried to build some more middle income / white collar-class developments in the area but the area is still generally low-income. Just check out the highrises at the bottom of this photo. They're maybe a couple steps up from the Cabrini-Green and Robert Taylor highrises in Chicago, not as poor or as dangerous but still far from glamorous or inviting.
