Awesome jab taken by Paul Johnson after his ACCCG press conference today:

As he walks off stage, he says "You better get Jimbo a ladder for that."

He does seem to have the boys dialed in to start most of the games lately.

Our injury luck from last year has flipped 180 degrees this year. Six true freshmen played a total of 300+ snaps this year; 13 true or RS freshmen played in the ACCCG. It's great for the future but we need to get healthy in the next 3 weeks and stay that way.

Sorry I typoed here - the six freshmen played 300 snaps (cumulatively) in the ACCCG. And we still won.

ACC needs to find a better venue for the CCG, I'm tired of a cold, wet Charlotte. And what's with the no drinks allowed outside the club? frikking baptist holier than thou bastids

Would have loved having all 3 of the field goals be TDs instead...even 2 of the 3 would have been better. I guess we will just have to watch the remaining 2 games go down to the final 60 seconds (Lord please let us play 2 more...) in 2014 Seminole style.

Doc,kev- are you planing on going to Dallas for the final?

I won't be going to either game, I just can't justify the cost (just like last year). I might have gone to the ACCCG but my wife had a party she had to attend.

Hell, I almost turned off the ACCCG when Goldman went down on the first series. I didn't see how we could possibly stop the dive with the poor DL play all year and that was the one play we stopped better all game than the keeper/pitch. I guess having MEJ pinch down for the dive helped a lot.

I don't see how our defense is going to match up with Oregon's schemes but I can't see them blowing us out either. While we haven't lost a game in 2 years, we haven't been blown out since Oklahoma in 2010 (I guess you could argue for VT in ACCCG in 2010 also, we really got beaten badly there). And if it's close, you have to like our chances.

Not going back to Pasadena - last year was such a fantastic trip - no way to top it - plus expensive as hell.

Will probably go back to Dallas - we went to Ok St game and had a blast - we have family out there so we can stay for free - just have to see about flight prices etc

Noles pick up a great commitment in 5-star DE Josh Sweat today. He's recovering from knee surgery but looks to be somewhat Clowney-like (physically at least). I doubt we end up with Cowart as well but if we do, our DL should be STOUT in the coming years.

Of course we'll never catch Bama, they're recruiting straight out of the NFL from what I hear.

Also, congrats to Nick O'Leary for picking up the Mackey award for top TE. He had a better year last year receiving-wise but we've used him more for blocking this year and he's definitely improved there. Next year is going to be so strange, without O'Leary, Greene, Winston, etc.

"Next year is going to be so strange, without O'Leary, Greene, Winston, etc."

So you don't think Winston is coming back to lead FSU to 3 straight titles? That's sad...

I say there is 25% chance Winston comes back

I'd say less than 5%.

Obviously if anything comes from the Code of Conduct hearing he's gone...why stay to face that music? There has been too much noise about "he keeps saying he really wants to stay another year" for it to be completely false, but this would be an excellent year to go pro. His stock has dropped sufficiently that Mariota could conceivably be chosen before him, and that he could be taken somewhere in picks 11-20, which means it would be a decent team (not the Raidahs).

Also remember his dad fills potholes on the highway at night to feed the family. Take the money, Jameis...there's nothing really to work on and nothing to prove any more. Plus, if he IS able to win the next two games he would leave with 2 NCs, a Heisman, and the only undefeated QB ever (AFAIK).

Heh. That old 'repeating' meme has died down. Glad to know that some remember.
