I had a movie idea once about a lawyer that murdered someone and then framed a guy for it, then volunteered to be his attorney so he'd make sure he was found guilty.

I sent it to Matlock but I don't think that was a story line they were going for with Andy Griffith.

Somebody should do a movie about a guy who keeps sending in treatments for free and they keep making profitable, critically acclaimed movies out of them without giving him any credit or money (you could have him sending in that last one, too, and the movie getting made)...

my brother & his wife are POOOOO-LICE, whenever I go over to their place we watch cop dramas and LOL at people who over step their boundaries to solve cases

DaVinci's inquest is about a coroner who makes his own calls & directly interrogates suspects

Castle is another favourite, he's not even POLICE, he's a crime fiction writer who gets all up in cases, even gets kidnapped a couple times and no one asks why NYPD has put a civilian in so much danger. Then there's episodes where the FBI/CIA get involved and none of them ever question "hey why is this writer dude all up in our shyt?"

CSI is hands down the best, at best CSI's investigate the crime season, make a lab report, submit their findings & maybe on a lucky case have to make an appearance in court, but they are all up in it solving mysteries & cracking cases

so I came up with an idea about a failed chemist who is absolutely brilliant but has no people skills or any social tact, after years of ridicule & shame in his field he becomes the mop guy/janitor who cleans up crime scenes

he develops a new sanitizer agent that predictably tells the whole story of what took place and cracks cases every week, Thursday nights at 8pm, on your favourite network

I cant decide if I wanna call it MOP GUY or THE JANITOR

What about Law and Order episodes (Criminal Intent is the worst about this, it's almost every episode, which is why I never watch it) that end with the perp cracking and basically copping to the whole thing because of some obvious mind game that either the investigator or the DA snags him up in, all the while his lawyer is sitting there not telling him to shut the fuck up (like anyone would do it in the first place)...

while implausible, they are still carrying out the duties required by their job description.... to investigate crimes, interrogate suspects & solve cases

my whole angle is to have someone who's job description involves absolutely none of that, but still gets the job done
