Except GoldwaterThat pretty much describes most republican presidential candidates ever...
To get a CC permit you have to undergo a certain level of training defined by the state you are getting the permit in. In Ohio its 12 hours (10 hours of instruction and 2 hours of shooting experience). Here is the link if you are gonna get one: http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/Ohio ... 62e9d6.pdfDr. Strangelove wrote:The gun fail video and the story about all the accidental shootings at gun shows yesterday might not be compelling evidence that we further restrict gun ownership.
However, it does call into question the "wisdom" of the gun strokers that call for an armed civilian populace everywhere. The wisdom that says lives would undoubtedly been saved if only a few people had stood up in that movie theater and started firing back at where they thought the shots were coming from. The wisdom that says it's a good idea to encourage people to allow guns in bars. The wisdom that says that all teachers should carry loaded weapons around with them at all times.
You have to have a class III permit to possess any automatic weapons. This involves a lot of money, time, and significant background checks by ATF/FBI including being fingerprinted etc.Professor Tiger wrote:Automatics have been illegal since the '30's. Don't really have a concern or any historical evidence that the govt would/will use car registrations to find the cars and confiscate them.hedge wrote:"That's probably true. Especially if the R's nominate another moderate, charisma-challenged, plutocrat-approved candidate like the last five."

"But,evidently, people don't mind their cars being registered, but their guns they do so them da rules."
That's true, but rules can be changed...
You can still sell one in a parking lot though. No questions asked.puterbac wrote:You have to have a class III permit to possess any automatic weapons. It resulted in the election of the most liberal Congress in US history and one of history's biggest landslides. I say, let them keep thinking that a more extreme candidate is the only way they can win.hedge wrote:And look how that turned out...
