Wow. Awesome stuff there dsl. I'm sure. Can't find about 1000000000000000 times more videos of idiots in cars.

Sheesh.

Cars do not have to be registered unless you want to get on public roadways in most states. We have one at the hunting club. A jeep. No plates, no registration papers. And we paid no taxes on it, either.

Automatics have been illegal since the '30's. I don't know of any movement to legalize them.

Johnette's Daddy wrote: As for the PAH - go out tomorrow and count the number of non-Hispanic adult white women you see who are not swimsuit-model worthy. 65%-70% of them will be voting for the PAH. Add in 97% of African Americans, 80% of Latinos (70% if Rubio runs), 80% of Asians (including Asian women married to white men) and 75% of Jewish people not listed in the prior categories. Add in 25% of white males (traitors/cuckolds/commies/gays, etc.).

Now tell me if there are enough remaining white males/Stepford wives/Barbie dolls to elect anyone else, especially a Republican.
That's probably true. Especially if the R's nominate another moderate, charisma-challenged, plutocrat-approved candidate like the last five.
The only ways that Hills doesn't win are:

1 - she doesn't run (decides she's too old/tired) . . .
2 - some sort of provable horrid personal scandal (Benghazi won't do it, needs to be a videotape of her strangling Vince Foster with a nylon stocking during sex or similar)
3 - Bill gets caught with his ding-a-ling in the wrong woman (wrong meaning underaged hooker, Michelle Obama or Chelsea). If he gets caught under other circumstances, Hillary may get a "Stand By You Man" bounce.
That's funny right there.

The gun fail video and the story about all the accidental shootings at gun shows yesterday might not be compelling evidence that we further restrict gun ownership.

However, it does call into question the "wisdom" of the gun strokers that call for an armed civilian populace everywhere. The wisdom that says lives would undoubtedly been saved if only a few people had stood up in that movie theater and started firing back at where they thought the shots were coming from. The wisdom that says it's a good idea to encourage people to allow guns in bars. The wisdom that says that all teachers should carry loaded weapons around with them at all times.

I disagree. IMO, it does not sufficiently address those issues, DSL, either pro or con. Drawing conclusions from a handful of isolated events in a nation of over 300 million is folly.

Salient.

The bigger issue for me is domestic violence. Most people who are killed in their homes are killed by family/lovers who didn't intend to kill them, but the situation got out of hand, the gun was handy and someone ended up dead.

I've pastored two women who did time for killing their husbands. Both were domestic violence victims, but had to do time because they shot in anticipation of being beaten instead of in the midst of the beatings. Neither served more than 4 years, but neither would have killed the men if the guns weren't right there.

I believe me or someone else has posted before that you are much more likely to be murdered by a family member, even with your own gun, than you are by stranger breaking into your home.

Nothing to do with the 2nd amendment

Plenty to do with the suggestion that you aren't "safe" unless you own a gun or that throwing guns into any environment is a sure way to prevent gun deaths.

According to IB, that shouldn't be the case. In the good ole days that IB wants to bring back, they would go to their brothers and have them kill her husband (of course, then his brothers will kill her brothers). And thus a feud.

Hopefully they would have developed the strength to leave. That's usually the least likely result, but still.

As a passionate supporter of the 2A, I think that if you do choose to own a gun, you have a moral responsibility to train on it and handle it like an adult. If you don't have control over your emotions, and you run the risk of shooting somebody in a heated argument, then you shouldn't own a gun. If you aren't willing to take the time to take it to the range, practice until proficient, disassemble it and clean it, then you shouldn't own a gun. If you don't have the discipline to hold your fire until you positively identify a target as an intruder, as opposed to a family member coming home from work unexpectedly (or as once happened to me, my landlord letting himself into my apartment late at night just to look around), then you shouldn't own a gun. If there are any kids or mentally ill people in the house, then you should either keep your gun locked up or not own one.

Just because something is legal doesn't mean you should be stupid about it.
