Evangelicals have been looking the other way on their beliefs for years when it comes to POTUS elections. Reagan developed a nice script to serenade them but his actions showed him to be a pragamatist like everyone else. Bush Sr was a cradle Episcopalian that also said just enough to keep uber-righties in line though some lost interest in 92, so Bush Jr. took notice and ramped up the talk but still didn't do much on faith related legislation. Romney wasn't even Christian in the classic evangelist definition but he had the only quality that matters - he wasn't a Democrat. Put a low-key atheist in the nominee's chair and they'll rationalize a way to support him.

At least alcohol and dancing will remain legal for the forseeable future.

I can only dance after consuming a significant amount of alcohol. But then, I'm practically Fred Astaire.

Certainly one of your better ones, mainly b/c of the shock that you knew the definition of "sojourn", or, even more impressive, that you could figure it out from the context of my post. As I said, shocking...

As the the Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates the true and correct Pascha (known as Easter among Western schismatics) at midnight tonight, another Chicago area miraculous icon starts weeping myrrh:

The church I served near Chicago had an icon that did that too for awhile.

My favorite tradition is the burning of the church after the fireworks battle.

Getting rid of that church is long overdue. What a waste of extremely valuable land.
