Miami doesn't fit in either division since its hundreds of miles away from the closest school. I'm not sure if that is Georgia Tech or FSU. Either way, our current conference alignment looks a bit silly and if college football is going to narrow down to 4 elite conferences, then the ACC better get to 16 and be the first one locked in. How else do you propose to force Notre Dame's hand counsellor? What's your big plan?

It seems to me that Pac12, Big10, and ACC teams don't want to merge with the SEC or merge with each other. Their pathway to the playoff is easier staying as is compared to being an SEC team. Big10 or ACC may add WVU, but the other Big12 teams will be left flapping in the wind.

Alright lets get some college football talk in here. Season starts in 3-and-half weeks. So the question is for the SEC fans here, they would know (perhaps grudgingly.) Is Alabama unbeatable this year or what?

Florida should just start their own conference, it would be pretty respectable. Or at least it would have the chance to be...

Nothing completely Florida will ever work. It's Florida.

Nobody knows how good Alabama can be until they see what kind of quarterback play they will actually get from a new starter.

A few magazine publications (who have NOTHING TO GAIN by saying this) have reported that BC has the #2 offensive line in all of college football, behind only Ohio State. And we are not behind them by all that much.

I still think we only win 7 or (maybe) 8. Jurkovec is good but we aren't beating anyone meaningful if the defense hasn't turned the corner.

We have no tailbacks, ZERO. The only good one we had, he transferred when it was clear that Jurkovec would be throwing on every down this year. And with the depth we have at wide receiver, that is what I expect will happen.

So no tailbacks means we don't beat anyone meaningful. Our schedule is a piece of cake, but still, 7 wins (maybe 8.)

LAST SEASON'S schedule was ridiculously hard. I would say the last time BC faced as schedule as tough as the 2020 schedule was 1995 when BC played Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Michigan State all OOC.

Ah yes, Steve Addazio's rookie year as HC. I was at the USC game in Southern California in 2013. We got our asses kicked. Ironically, when USC paid us a visit to BC the following year (the year after Andre graduated) we kicked their ass in return thanks EVTIRELY to a 5th year grad-student transfer quarterback from Florida who was losing his starting job to a freshman. I'm sure rat can fill in all the details there.

Hedge you guys have a shot at Clemson this year for the ACC. Not a big shot, but a shot.

Wow - College Football actually being discussed on TGP, how long will it last?

Bammer is still Bammer. Everyone else in the SEC and the world will be playing for 2nd.

I'm not cheering on the eventual addition of Texas and Oklahoma - a 16 team conference is functionally just two 8-team conferences.
Divisiion wise - Bammer and Aubie move to the East, Mizzou moves to the west with Okie and Texas. Cross division games will be rare and the bottom feeders in each will be permanently entrenched there.
But they will make a sh*tload of money on the TV deal and that's what matters.

UF will win its first two games and GatorNation will be feeling good, then Saban will come to town and remind them of what they are not. A decent season can be salvaged by winning the TWLOCP, but they are still not recruiting the quality and quantity of top-flight players to stay in the top tier.
