Speaking of uniforms... the Astros are not only considering a uniform change, they're (not really) considering a name-change. People here are, obviously, outraged that this is even a consideration, but I think it's a shrewed move on new owner, Jim Crane's part. Just the vail threat is enough to illicit discussion about a team that's not been worth talking about since early 2009.

Now if he can only get some actually ML talent on the roster...

They should change the name. Astros just doesn't fit anymore now that the Astrodome is gone and NASA quit. It's not like they haven't changed the name before. New owner, new league, new name. A fresh start sounds good to me. Plus anytime I hear the name Astros I remember those god awful rainbow uniforms and always thought the name was gay.

This move of Houston to the AL is one of the strangest things I've ever seen. I know Milwaukee did it back in the 90's. What is the reason for this?

Because nobody cares about Houston.

if you are a crackhead, whatever other problems the squares think you have are not really problems. you want a night off the rock, you get drunk. so drunk that you'll be unable to go out and score a 20-rock later. Hamilton's gone deep down crack alley. as long as he stays away from that pitch, drinking beer in a bar ain't shit.

Houston was the only team they could force to move. Neither the owner/club nor the fans want to move but basically the threat was if you don't agree we won't approve you as owner and Drauton will have to find another buyer who will.

Milwaukee was owned by the commissioner so that was no sweat to get done. Plus Milwaukee had been an NL city at one point already.
