Who? Ray Perkins or Bill Curry? No one was bitching about wins under those two coaches.

Maybe lack of wins, but not wins.

I'd say lack of wins (especially in the Iron Bowl) was a definite issue with Curry. The fuzzy sweater didn't help either.
Mike Price's partying certainly led to his ouster as head coach too.

Thank goodness we didn't complete the hiring of that guy....

It's very generous of UA to give paychecks and company credit cards to non-employees.

Who said we didn't employ him?

So UA employed him, but not as a football coach?

When I had surgery 10 years back, the first surgeon I tabbed was a nice guy. I went to his office, he took a history, did a physical, some tests, took some of my money, and scheduled a surgery date for me. He died in a horrible car accident two days before the surgery, so I had to start all over with another guy.
When people ask me about my surgery and who my surgeon was, I never even mention the first guy. In my mind, he is a doctor I selected and paid, a guy who was going to be my surgeon, but because of the car wreck never got the chance to perform the critical function that one must perform to be considered my surgeon. In other words, actually performing the surgery, to me, is the critical criterion for being my surgeon. Likewise, actually coaching a football game is the critical criterion for being included in the long list of head coaches at the University of Alabama.

Your mileage may vary.
I feel the same way about a president-elect who is assassinated before inauguration? Not president - even if he had hired a cabinet and had some meetings.
If it makes the rival fans feel better (because who I call or don't call a former Alabama coach is so important), I will concede that Price was "coach-elect" who didn't make it to his inauguration, game day.

Oh, I don't argue about it. I state my opinion. People question me; I answer. In fact, I won't even bring it up, but every few months someone ask me about it...
But if it is an argument, no way it could be as bad as Peyton v Brady. At least this will die down for a few months before someone else tries to get me to change my Price stance.

I believe he would have made a better football coach than Shula. But, things have a way of working themselves out.
The decade of horse shit giving our chief rivals hope has finally been brought back to at least an even keel. Perhaps soon Saban will have a really good team and it won't be smoke and mirrors.

No doubt. He would be a big improvement over Shula or Dubose. And, for that matter, he was smarter in his personal life than Dubose.
Personally, I don't care if he lines up strippers and skanks all day. He doesn't need to march them through the lobby of the Crowne Plaza where all the rival SEC coaches AND members of the media are staying, though. He is a millionaire. Call a local realty company and rent a beach house in a secluded area for a week. The second call could be to the local limo company to arrange transport for Cinnamon, Destiny, Velvet and Candi.
