A review committee issues a scathing report on the State Department's handling of Benghazi.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/19/us/state- ... ?hpt=hp_t3
The same week that report is released, Hillary Clinton, who runs the State Department, can't testify before congress because of a "concussion." Amazing! What a coincidence! Mafia dons show up in court with the usual neck braces, wheelchairs, and oxygen tanks, but at least they show up. A fitting travesty by all the court jesters involved.
However, Hillary IS cleared to start as quarterback for the Redskins this Sunday.

That's because before 2010, the second amendment, since the time it was passed in 1791 only applied to the Federal govt. The states could do what they wanted regarding guns. This was reaffirmed in the Cruikshank (sp?) decision in 1876. This means that for 219 years, the second Amendment had one view, but the current court decided that it knew better (or at least since 1876 when they ruled that the 14th Amendment didn't apply the 2nd Amendment to the state)

Wow...Boehner abruptly postpones a vote on his much-hyped "Plan B" because he doesn't have the votes to pass it. What a huge embarrassment for him and his leadership.

Most Households Face the 'Fiscal Cliff' - WSJ.com
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 55182.html
My dad, rest his soul, would often start a sentence with "They can put a man on the moon BUT.." whenever he'd refer to the failings of policymakers in D.C.
Too bad there isn't a NASA-like body of experts that we can turn over our fiscal problems to and say 'fix it.' Instead of the bumblers in Congress who seemingly can't agree on anything anymore (plastic sporks instead of silverware in the dining hall? - table that decision til next year).

Your dad, God rest his soul, is just trying to reframe the argument to make the liberal point of view the ONLY point of view. I disgree with him entirely. My Congressman isn't failing me. If he was agreeing to tax increases and not cutting spending (enough) he WOULD be failing me. I voted for him specifically because I wanted a belligerant prick (who votes "no" a lot) representing me in Congress. I don't want Congress working to "fix" the problem if "the fix" raises my taxes and doesn't cut spending.

My dad is long dead (God rest his soul - hello) so your use of him in the present tense is off the mark (no surprise).
And heh @ your stock "reframe the argument." Normally it's used in the context of an actual argument...maybe you ought to give that one a rest.

The mysteries of physics are child's play compared to the mysteries of human idiocy. We have IB as our very own proof of the latter...

Sadly, it appears that the fine education you were supposed to have received at that North Carolina "flagship" University, appears to be wasted. This conversation I am having with Tick is way above your level of comprehension.

What else is of "no surprise" is that you have absolutely no rebuttal of my term "reframing the argument" because that is exactly what you are doing.
And I know it because I read the same book you did (
http://www.amazon.com/Dont-Think-Elepha ... 1931498717)...
And I called you on it.
And that pisses you off.
So
OF COURSE you are forced to RE-reframe your argument by telling me to "give that one a rest."
