On pretty days like we've had this week, I've parked the sport bike and I've started riding my scooter. I like being at an age where I don't have to focus on making my penis look more attractive. Its much more comfortable.

Nice scooter, eCat. Just got my bike out of winter storage a few weeks ago. Had to put 2 new tires on....$419 + $25 for the installation. Wouldn't mind having one of those 100 mpg bikes myself.... economical.

Scooters/Vespas are pretty popular around here. I've just never had the desire to buy one. Now, since I've had kids, my wife would probably bitch about how dangerous they are in the city, but I think they are probably safer than a regular bike because you are more likely to follow street laws on a scooter.

wife vetoed me getting a sport bike for years but was ok with me getting a scooter. Her biggest fear was the kids would want to have one but they don't show any interest in them. Once she got used to the idea of me having a scooter, then I just showed up one day with a ninja. She complained a bit but got over it.
I have no interest to ride on the interstate though so I just zip around on back roads.
But the scooter is much more comfortable to ride - just turn the throttle and go

I'd say that the scooter is safer because cars are more likely to respect a scooter and treat it like another car. I can't believe how aggressive some drivers are towards bikers. It's ridiculous. I won't ride my bike in the city anymore which makes it a real pain in the ass when I have to drive out to the suburbs to do my long bike rides but it keeps me alive.

My brother has a 650 Suzuki Burgman . He also has a Harley 1200 Street Glide. He won't ride the Harley. The Suzuki is just like riding around in a recliner.
Will easily go over 100mph

Better think again, Cletus. Scooters are smaller than a touring bike and harder to see. In any case, morons who are doped up or drunk could care less if it's a scooter, large bike, car or 18 wheeler. They pull out in front of you without even thinking. Idiots around here are always texting and pay no attention to the road. The one thing that really scares me on my bike is when I'm meeting a line of 3 or 4 cars on a straight stretch. Usually the idiot in the back wants to pass all the others and doesn't even consider what's coming.... or he's trying to pass and text at the same time.

I'm talking about a real bike not a motorcycle.

Not only is the traffic in front of you dangerous, the idiots behind you are just as likely to take you out........ Guy was smart to pull over the white line when he stopped. Glad I saw this video... will now make be do the same if stopped in a line of traffic.

(had this on the wrong thread)
Used to work at a hospital (when I was an nurse's aide) that had a whole wing reserved for motorcycle victims. Knees and heads unit we called it. Most did nothing wrong. Cars just don't see motorcycles in the street the way they should.

you want to see some people that don't have any business riding a motorcycle - search for "Deals Gap" on youtube.
The Harley rider driving his bike off a cliff (I assume he lived) is funny as hell.

Oh man - drivers hate bicyclists that don't have a bike lane.

Cal says fuck the Maui invitational, lets go there and live it up a bit.............................
“It’s not just Maui, it’s any tournament that we have to be off campus three games, I mean we’re just not doing it. At this point, where we are as a program, we’ve got better ways of using our financial wherewithal.
And I would tell any of our fans that really want to go to Maui. Why don’t we do a trip, Ellen and I will go with you. We don’t have to bring the basketball team, Why have you got to bring the basketball team? We’ll go vacation out there, maybe we’ll go for four days, we’ll have a couple dinners, a couple functions and come back. We don’t need to bring the team with us.”
Seriously I bet he could fill up a charter 757 with fans that would just go to hang out with him for a week.
