I watch Cubs baseball, Bears football, Grizz basketball, Memphis and Ole Miss football and basketball, and most other SEC football...

The rest of it...meh...I'll catch the highlights...

It was quite a game. I lost count how many home runs there were. I about spit nails when the Reds bullpen gave up a four run lead in the eighth, but we pulled it out.

Hedge - the strike in 94 did me in - I wasn't mad for that long or still holding a grudge - I just realized I could live without it

That same year, the NHL strike made many of their fans realize that they could live without it

I grew up everything baseball. I follow the Reds daily but as for the rest of the league I don't follow it anything like I used too. Probably start paying attention in August. Pennant runs are always fun and most everybody is still in it besides Pittsburgh.

Hockey sucks but it's 10x better than kickball. Now kickball with hockey rules. Now that would work.

We are probably close to the same age - I grew up on mid late 1970's baseball and as a kid there was nothing better

1975 World Series

Arguably, the best World Series in all of major league baseball history

A handful. The significance of this series though was it defined the best starting 8, if not team, in the history of baseball and it changed the way television broadcasted the games from that series on.

Agreed.

You have to admit though, it was an outstanding world series (1975.)

1991, 2001, 2011 and 2016 were the best WS of my lifetime in terms of competitiveness.

I have to admit, the 2001 World Series was incredible. And we needed something beautiful and incredible that October. We were hurting as a nation.

No. They’re just the ones that stick out. The ‘91 WS is the first one I remember in detail. My father allowed me to stay up and watch the games with him. Dad was a big Braves fan thanks to TBS. I was a Red Sox fan thanks to my boyhood fascination for Clemens, but because Dad was a fan and the Braves were always on in my house, I would pull for them some too.

The strike really hurt his love of baseball, but the Braves ‘95 WS helped in that regard. He didn’t have the patience to sit and watch games later in life though.
