Well, that went about like I expected...if Alabama hadn't had the SECCG to play next week, it might have been 84-0. I honestly can't remember if we crossed midfield or not...well, crossed it while in possession of the football, at least.
3-9, first 9-loss season since 1950.

It's bad when I can't even muster a "Rammer Jammer" for a win against Auburn.
I've had to work today so I only caught parts of the game on the computer, and this was the first real chance I've had to watch Auburn all season. That was one of the worst coached defenses re... position play and tackle I've seen since Shula. Perhaps you should reconsider Roof?
Kudos to Tre Mason for 1000 yards on the last play of the game in the last game of the season. I have to believe he earned every foot of it.
Prof, you do recall correctly. Troopah and Loopah can recruit... what type of people are they bringing in and what are they doing with the talent??? Auburn deserves better than those two, and that's coming from an Alabama fan.

How much cologne did you sell this Black Friday weekend so far? Get any digits from some hot mall hopping milfs?

Chizik's humiliation was earned. I'm glad his exit from the conference was so inglorious.

A couple of futility statistics...
* The 2012 Auburn offense was held scoreless in 24 of the 48 quarters of football they played in during regulation.
* During the 1988 season the Auburn defense gave up a grand total of 92 points in 12 games. The 2012 defense allowed 96 points in the first quarter of games alone.

Earned by Auburn. They hired the crappiest head coach they could find just because he had been a good DC under their previous defensive head coach. They lucked out considerably that he managed not to trip over his feet during one magical year.

Chizik fired according to the ESPN Breaking News ticker.

Just awful timing for Auburn to have to make this change. Ordinarily, Auburn could sell the premier opportunity to take over an SEC program, but with Tennessee and Arkansas both in the market for a new coach, and with neither Tennessee or Arkansas facing a serious NCAA investigation, Auburn may have to work well down its list before finding someone willing to take the job.

Great, hopefully Brad bates will instantly hire him the moment Spaz has cleaned out his desk.
Oh SHIT, I forgot. We don't pay for coaches.
Ever. We can't afford him. Chizik will get twice as much as a coordinator for an SEC program than he would as our HC.

We have only one direction to go. The departure of Chizik was the first and necessary step in that new direction. Judging from the AU message boards, the fan base is angry that Jacobs didn't get fired too. He was responsible for this dumpster fire by hiring a 5-19 coach from Iowa State in the first place.
The current leading candidates to replace him APPEAR to be Petrino, Malzahn and Jimbo. I'd be happy with any of them. Petrino has the most baggage but also the highest ceiling. Everybody at Auburn loves Malzahn because of his success as our OC, but he has little experience as a HC. Even Chizik was an excellent assistant. Jimbo has the best overall resume and is probably the safest choice.

This is what awaits our new coach, and what I hope he does his first day in the job:

You know your coaching was terrible when you would gladly take a head football coach from any and/or all of Vanderbilt, Duke and Northwestern over what was already there.
I doubt all three of those schools have ever been bowl eligible in the same year.

I can't wait for the rest of the SEC coaches to recruit against Petrino. It will be like taking candy from a baby. Plus, he hasn't had squat for success against a real defense.

Reports blowing up that AU has reached a deal with Gundy. If so, a head-scratcher...and helluva good hire.
