I have serious trepidations about the Miami game. We are extremely thin at RB and have a serious weakness in the center of the O line. Hopefully Jameis gets enough protection to allow him to pick apart the Miami DB's. Also, our DL has to stop the Miami run and at the same time put pressure on the now seasoned freshman QB.

I agree - I keep hoping the light will switch on and we will play 4 quarters - but I am afraid this is as good as we are - anybody besides Jameis at QB and we are a 3/4 loss team

The Oline being this bad is inexplicable - and everyone on defense is 4/5 star guy - hard to figure they all arent any better

It's just injuries on defense. We have had some busts at DT, but Nile Lawrence-Stample and Eddie Goldman are very good....then NLS is out for the season early on. Goldman has done a good job but it's hard when you're the only viable threat inside. LB has been a M*A*S*H* unit, along with Matthew Thomas losing half a season for smoking weed before the BCSCG. Against Louisville, we were down to two scholarship LBs and had to move a reserve Safety (special teams guy) in as the third LB. If we had NLS, this defense looks much better.

The veterans on the OL have gotten beat way too many times but we're mostly getting destroyed up the middle. Our stud Center from last year gets Tom Brady's hands on his butt now, and the starter (who wasn't that good anyway) got hurt. The other interior guys are having to give him a lot of help and it's killing us.

Our depth at RB isn't as bad as BBB portrayed. Pender is our best back and he's been out, but could have played against UVA if needed and will play this weekend. Dalvin Cook has been a stud and all indications are that he'll be ok after getting banged up against UVA.

It's tough after last year. People just don't realize how good that team was...it's in the discussion for top 20 all time (maybe much higher than that). This team is just a gritty, get-the-job-done type of team but I don't think there's a light switch to flip. We're going to have to win every game like we have been. Jameis lost two guys who were fantastic for him last year and the new guys are very good but very young.

Oh I'm not all-in on this team by any stretch. I fully expected to lose to Clemson, Notre Dame, and Louisville entering those games. Our poor play for a half at a time (usually the first half) will come back to bite us at some point.

I'm not sure on Miami. If Duke Johnson can continue to run efficiently, we'll lose. This might be the most balanced team, offensively and defensively, that we face this year. I think they are Top 20 in both units on F/+ stats. They aren't a juggernaut but they are very capable of beating us if we don't play better than we have post-Clemson.

So I think I only disagree with you on RB depth. Unfortunately the OL has been so poor (again, primarily up the middle) that it doesn't matter who is toting the rock, they're going to have to make 1-2 guys miss in the backfield to have a chance at a positive play.

Not even gonna worry about it at this point. Just keep winning, and if they keep us out of the playoffs then there will be changes, I can assure you of that.

It's sad, really.

I am convinced of it. This FSU team can not be beaten.

I read the perfect comment at TN - "FSU is not the best team in the country but it's the hardest one to beat." That sums it up well...very flawed in several areas but unwilling to give up.

About half our schedule features opponents with a bye week before us, and they're throwing new wrinkles at us. Our base defense isn't good enough to stand up to it. If we make the playoffs, I wonder if our opponents will do the same or "dance with the one who brung ya".
