Cliff ended up attempting suicide after this, iirc. I imagine that the Wuffies will endure the same type of despair when the NCAA deems Carolina's proactive stance as having been suitable.

Yep, Carolina's helpful compliance will be seen in its proper light, esp. considering the recent stonewalling by USC and OSU, and will be rewarded appropriately....

first of all co-operation with the ncaa is expected. it doesnt get you a cookie it keeps you from getting hit worse than non-cooperation. you're still guilty as sin and will get hit.

second you've had 24+hrs to give one example of carolina actually doing something proactive beside saying they're being proactive and you havent come up with one yet. that snickers bar sure was good.

Well, they sat players even if it wasn't clear that they had acted wrong. Ryan Houston was cleared of wrong doing, but he still sat out half of the season and had to red-shirt for the year.

Carolina suspended the players even before they were deemed ineligible. A lot of schools could give a shit less about that, but many do. Carolina is one of those that does. They suspended the players, including those that had no definite cases against them.

Yep, and that looks esp. good when compared to, say, OSU, who scrambled and deliberately lied in order to make sure their guys played in their bowl game, a game they almost certainly would've lost without those players (they barely won with them). As an article I read the other day said: Hope that win against Arkansas was worth it...

Crow -- you are running out of time to post your annual NBA Draft touts. I always look forward to those.

none of unc's players were "cleared" of anything except to play. ever wondered by unc hasnt said "we looked into so and so's academics and discovered they were innocent so he is now eligible to play" you never heard that. you heard "so and so is cleared to play" that just means unc felt comfortable putting back on the field after their suspension. anyway. reads the NOA. it's pretty plain. unc committed academic fraud, lied about it, did nothing when notified about potential improper benefits. etc. do you feel like you've been kicked in the gut or in the balls? it's got to be one or the other.

hey look at it this way. you won the cheating championship this year. your NOA was longer than UT's and OSU's combined.
