Ninety-two percent of Volt owners surveyed by the influential consumer magazine said they would definitely buy the Volt again, earning the electric car the top ranking. Last year, 93 percent of respondents said they would buy the car again.

"But may God shield and deliver me from the fangs of the Arch-Fiend ! No sooner had the reverberation of my blows sunk into silence, than I was answered by a voice from within the tomb! -- by a cry, at first muffled and broken, like the sobbing of a child, and then quickly swelling into one long, loud, and continuous scream, utterly anomalous and inhuman -- a howl -- a wailing shriek, half of horror and half of triumph, such as might have arisen only out of hell, conjointly from the throats of the dammed in their agony and of the demons that exult in the damnation."

Indeed. This is pnn, where all victories are Pyrrhic. Success is merely a prelude to disaster. Any morsel of good news must be doused with copious grains of salt.

Ozzie and Harriet are dead and the mongrels and their women have taken over.

Bah humbug.

Damn, Toe. You are one sour mf. You're so sour your mother must have weened you on a pickle. There was absolutely nothing in that post that was supposed to be about some victory. The point of was that the many people who have hybrids are happy about that. The top 3 cars were hybrids, the next two were clean diesel. You could have looked at it that they are self-selected and got what they wanted. Instead, you go off to lala land.

Owners are happy w/their Volt....shareholders (the US taxpayer), not so much.

But a few short months later, GM is idling the plant yet again. That's hardly a surprise. GM, under pressure from the Obama administration, had a target of selling 45,000 Volts this year. Actual sales? Around10,600 sales through July. This was – triple the 2,870 sold in 2011, but only because California gave the car an artificial boost by allowing lone Volt drivers on the car pool lanes.

But what is GM planning to do when the plant is idled? Retooling it to manufacture cars that people actually want and can afford – even without the $7,500 subsidy that the $40,000 Volt gets

Toe, for your preposition (a wrong one), I only needed to post the top car. I posted and listed the top 5 cars for a reason. Use all the information available, not just the one that fits your already perceived bias.

Admittedly, I thought all 5 were hybrids when I posted it. I didn't realize that numbers four and five were high mileage diesels until later.
