Why would you chastise State for actually following the rules and suspending a player appropriately and making him adhere to some sort of academic rigor? At U*NC Washburn never would have missed a game and would have a degree with a double major in Sociology and AFAM studies. That's the difference between State and U*NC. Yet we're the bad guys.

Washburns SAT score was enough to get him into college under the system at the time. There was nothing illegal or suspicious about Washburn's SAT score. If Washburn had suddenly come up with a 1200 on his SAT you'd have a point, but he didn't, so you don't. Hell, U*NC had a guy (Keven Madden?) who's score was worse. The difference again was that Washburn left NC State without a degree while Madden has U*NC toilet paper on the wall. Who was the U*NC basketball player with "The August Miracle"? Stackhouse? The guy never makes more that an 8 on the ACT in his hometown, but takes it in Chapel Hill over the summer and gets a 21.

You guys look at a marginal student flunking out at State and go "There's a sign of corruption in that athletic department right there." But total dumb asses graduate from your "public ivy" and it's a sign of how right and proper you do things. The logic is just all fucked up. Well now we know you you get it done.


You have an academic center steering those morons to classes where they know the prof will give them a passing grade for little or no effort. We know your tutors will do however much of the work needed to make it look like your jocks are actually doing something, and we know that at least some of the professors dont even look at the work turned in by the jocks and just give them a passing grade if a pile of paper turns up on the desk. And we know that if an athlete is close to ineligibility fake classes will be generated specifically for them, and grades and credit hours will be manipulated to make sure that the athlete stays eligible.

paying a player is no where close to lack of academic integrity. At the end of the day he is still a student athlete. UNC kinda lost out on the whole "student" part there. He is nothing but a ringer at that point if he isn't a student. Talk about losing your priorities.

Since Cal has arrived , every Senior has graduated. We have had multiple occasions where our GPA was in contention with Vanderbilts, and regardless if those students do leave in 1 year, with the exception of a Billy Gillispie recruit, their ass has been going to class just like everyone else is supposed to. Certainly it wasn't that way with Tubby but it was still a far cry from fake classes and condoned cheating.

The reality is you guys are attacking others because you can't justify the actions of your University. There is no way you can say with a straight face that UNC shouldn't get hammered big time for this. As I type this, the Southern Accrediation group is on your campus determining if you will even retain your accreditation as a University. To make matters worse, your program knew it going back as far as 2009 when suddenly, all the student athlete majors switched from African Studies to Communications. That wasn't random, that was a 'oh shit,we're busted" moment.
