Interesting pic on KSR today..
https://kentuckysportsradio.com/main/ke ... day-night/
The guy on the left was the point guard on the 4 grade basketball team I coached back in the late '70s. That team went undefeated and won the county 4th grade championship. He later became the all time leader in yards passing in Kentucky HS until a guy named Tim Couch took the top spot. Allen played for UK under Jerry Claiborne and IMO was a better qb than Ransdell but never got the chance to prove it. Had offers from BYU, Ga. Tech and Dook. His son, in the black UK shirt, recently inked with UK to play QB. The younger Allen had offers from Mike Leach at Washington State and several other SEC teams. Not sure his inking with UK was the best choice just as I thought his dad inking with UK wasn't the best either. Great family. Hope it works out for Beau Allen. I would have chosen to play for Leach.
Great article on the KHSAA website on the Allen family. Like I stated previously, Beau's dad Bill was the point guard on my 4th grade county basketball team. Went on to play for Claiborne at UK. His mother was my freshman English teacher. His dad taught business at the HS but never had him in class. He and all his brothers are bank presidents today. I'm sure that's one reason Bill chose to play at UK instead of BYU or Ga Tech because of 'business connections' you might say.... and I'd be almost sure that had a decision for Beau to play for UK instead of Washington St or Georgia. No doubt in a few years the kid will be a bank president just like his dad and uncles.

Average sass Hedge but you can do better. What I was trying to point out is that I'm pretty sure the kid chose to sign with UK not because of a promising football career in Lex but because of the 'business opportunity' after graduation. His dad Bill made that same decision. BYU and Ga Tech would have been his best opportunity to play significant minutes or even been a starter for either but he chose UK because of 'connections' that pay off after he graduated BECAUSE he played for Kentucky.

Yeah, I'm sure there are no opportunities in Atlanta or Salt Lake City for a former college star like there are in Ken-TUUUHHHHHHH-KEEEEEHHHHHHH!!!!! Yep, good ol Bank of the Bluegraiss, it doesn't get any better than that. They got copy rooms and everything. You don't get that in Atlanta...

The Bengals should try to keep Dalton and give him a 1 year deal so Burrow just isn't thrown to the wolves, get this kid a receiver and bolster up that offensive line.

Agreed. Just like they did with Kitna and Palmer. Dalton is stuck here. They can franchise AJ, although he won't be happy. The have Ross, fastest player in the NFL and Tate was suprising this year. Plus Boyd and Mixon? Dalton comes at a 17 mill pricetag but they ain't winning shit anyway next year. Dalton is already signed for 17 next year although all his guaranteed money is paid so they can walk away with no cap hit. Gotta address LB big time. I broke a glass when the Steelers jumped one pick ahead of us to get Devon Bush. He was my choice by 1000. Linebackers and oline. Remember this years #1 was an awesome OL who got hurt preseason. Should have made a lot of trades at the deadline but I think they will move Gino and Dunlap and hopefully Kirkpatrick on draft day. Love Dunlop. My Gator but they have to rebuild.
I would even say trade the Burrow pick for a bounty but that's a huge fucking risk on the future. We busted on actual #1s on Big Daddy and Ki-Jana, although Ki-Jana was injury but they hit gold on Palmer. With the Bengals it's a game of Russian roulette.
I'd go with Burrow though. An Athens kid. OU baby

Maybe you'll get lucky and get Sam Howell in 2022...
