NCAA Championship is always the first Monday in April. Opening Day is always April 1 (I think it is the 31st at times, but I may be wrong). Sometimes they coincide.

Opening Day used to be the 1st Monday in April, along with the NCAA title game -- they added the Sunday Night opener a few years ago, and now they are starting on a Saturday. So to answer your question, yes, it's getting earlier
