I'm definitely nervous about Saturday. This game has spoiler alert written all over it.

DDAL, I don't understand why you are concerned about Auburn. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but we seriously suck this year. And UGA has owned AU for most of the past decade.

If you continue to express concern about Auburn, I shall assign you to the Kingdom of Sandbaggery, currently ruled by AA and GBJ.

The few times when we needed Auburn to beat Ugha so UF would take the division they did not deliver. This year we have a better chance of going to the Sugar Bowl if the poodles go to Atlanta and get smacked by Bama. So go right on ahead and lay another egg Tigers.

I agree that Georgia is better, has dominated Auburn recently, and should win. But... Georgia is still Georgia, so it will be tense, close and full of angst.

A very insightful commentator once observed that Auburn fans share a powerful tendency to believe that disaster is always lurking just around the corner. This expectation of imminent bad times makes it hard for us to enjoy the good times. That usually makes us "tense" and "full of angst" as you describe UGA fans.

In a weird way, I am not tense or full of angst this year at all. The bad times are not around the corner; they are right here, right now. We know we suck, and are numb to it. We are just waiting to see who our next coach will be, and then kindle the flame of hope anew.

Georgia and Auburn are similar in so many ways. Our respective teams' fortunes have been made or gone to die many times between the hedges and on the plains.

Georgia is full of angst and tense this year because Auburn has nothing to play for and no pressure on them. They still have a great pass rush and are capable of playing well. They had LSU on the ropes and had a good shot at Clemson. Of course that was early when the season still held promise, but they are still capable of punching a sure to be tense and pressing Georgia team right in the mouth.

If Jarvis Jones devastates Auburn's offense early and often, then there will be time for the offense to get rolling. I just fear the 17-0 start.

This game will give Martinez and VanGorder a chance to quietly slip their resumes into Richt's pocket during the pregame warmups

BVG had some good defenses with some great players but his resume has been pretty shabby since he left UGA.

A lot of Auburn people want Jimbo. Rumors are that AU has made quiet inquiries, but Fisher will just use them to up his salary at FSU. Have you heard anything like that, Kev?

That's pretty much all I've heard but I hardly have any inside contacts. But your assessment is the most plausible - I don't see him jumping to AU unless they offered him Saban-type money which would be a mistake. Thus far he's been a great recruiter and made a great hire at DC but he has cost us some games with poor approach. I don't want to lose him but we can't compete with what AU could offer him so he needs to make the best decision for himself and his family if they come knocking.

Why do you think this? I doubt Auburn's pockets are any deeper than FSU's. You can always hit up Burt Reynolds if you need some big money.

Didn't Burt leave it to her in his will? God rest his soul.

I have been watching Auburn since '72. This is the worst Auburn football team I have ever seen. They aren't even really trying anymore.

Because we are in the god-forsaken ACC, so we get about half what you get every year. Plus our booster support just isn't that great. Maybe if we can get the Spanx lady to become the next Phil Knight/T Boone Pickett/Bobby Lowder, but until then we're not a well funded program. I think we were about $2.5M short this year.

This season is well deserved after paying no official penalty whatsoever for one of the most blatant cases of cheating in NCAA history. Karma's a bitch, Coach Chizik
