Its like a neighbor of mine said last week when we were talking about the election. We were at the block party discussing who we were voting for and my neighbor got all serious, wide-eyed, and indignant, "Are you kidding me? I HAVE to vote for Obama. I got two kids in high school, one is a junior and we live to check to check." Took a step closer to me, get red in the face. "Did you here what I said? I LIVE CHECK TO CHECK! I have no savings for our kids edcuation, nothing. We're upside down, we're fucked. If Obama gets re-elected then maybe my kids can go to college because
somebody has to pay. I sure as shit can't. I know with Romney elected my kids are screwed." One person mentioned the debt and he got even angrier "
I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF THIS DEBT SHIT!!!!! I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE DEBT!!!!! MY KIDS NEED SOMEONE TO PAY FOR THEIR COLLEGE! FUCK YOU MAN!" And he sauntered off screaming at the world with a can of Natty-Light in his hand.
Wiz, there is no reasoning with people like that. I basically am left shunning them because their irresponsibility has meant that their pride has left the building. A better man would start moonlighting for a second check to send his kids to college instead of expecting government to step in and make his family whole.
There is a zero percent chance that any of these encounters you describe ever happened. You do have a vivid imagination though.
Of course it happened.
Cletus, we had about 3,000,000 people in this country who walked away from their homes because they were upside down. They lost their homes NOT because they couldn't make the payments but INSTEAD because they were upside down and they didn't think it was fair for them that someone could buy the same house they have just down the street for 60% of what they paid for theirs. Too many people (millions of people) are trying (and succeeding) at gaming the system to get what they feel is coming to them. President Obama is the man who makes them whole.
I don't give a fuck that you don't think what I said happened. My neighbor is not a unique person. There are millions of people who think the way they do (for the reasons he thinks.) Hell, I even remember growing up hearing my folks tell me that financial aid isn't "charity" (not that we qualified for a penny because we couldn't, unfortunately.) But it absolutely amazes me what people think they are entited to....

Prof, economic conservatism would have a better chance if it didn't get dragged down by social wedge issues. Overturning Roe and limiting contraception are losers now and become bigger losers with every passing day.

I am not aware of any conservative movement to limit women's access to contraception.
And Gallup says that the pro-life view is growing while pro-choice is shrinking:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/154838/pro-c ... d-low.aspx
If this is true, then being pro-life is not a growing loser at all.

bullshit. Romney promised just as much free shit as Obama did. Romney lost because he was anti gay, anti porn, anti pot, and absolutely refused to acknowledge that people making millions of dollars a year should have to pay their fair share of taxes. If he had said that it was up to the states to determine the legality of gay marriage, marijuana legalization, and abortion (like he wants to pawn welfare and medical insurance off on the States) and that porn was part of free speech, he'd be the mother fucking president right now instead of a goddam loser.

"I question the Asian vote fact."
You're not the only repub who not only questioned alot of facts about this election, but outight didn't believe them. Much like christians who refused to believe the fact that the earth was not the center of the universe, that the earth actually revolved around the sun, to the point that they threatened to burn at the stake anyone who dared perpetuate such an idea. It wasn't in the bible, so it couldn't be a fact. But keep on making up your own "facts," like that bullshit about your neighbor running off screaming and red in the face, when in FACT, you're the only one screaming and red in the face. And the ass. Another fact: The sooner you die, the better off this planet will be. Please don't tarry

Don't try to explain facts to Wiz, either. He's almost as bitter as IB. Funny watching some folks whine like litte bitches when they lose. Grow a pair, faggoths...

I implore the Republicans to nominate a "real" conservative next time. Let's see how close to 40% they can drop.

Yes, I enjoy reading the writings of Pat Buchanan - especially in its original German.

Someone may have already mentioned it but this is the first time America has had three consecutive two-term Presidents since Jefferson-Madison-Monroe

Trying to decide who best represents the demeanor and principles of the modern Republican Party and have decided that Zell Miller should be the R candidate in 2016. He won't compromise and has the power to energize the base!

"I dont think Galileo was burned at the stake."
I said threatened. I think it was Copericus who first attempted to loosen earth from its moorings in the minds of the catholic fathers, but they weren't too picky. They loved a weenie roast and would burn a man at the stake just for agreeing with somebody they disagreed with. But I do enjoy hearing folks talk about hospitals and Mother Theresa as some "proof" of the blessings that have been showered on mankind by the believers of jesus, whilst conveniently forgetting how they intimidated, squashed and killed anybody who questioned their authority, probably setting back technology and human freedom by several centuries (at least). But Mother Theresa provided some cots for sick indian kids. No medicine, but she prayed for them. So hey, that proves the church is the greatest, most humane institution ever created by mankind...

The fact that you have not been burned at the stake must mean we have entered an unprecedented era of Church tolerance.

I hate to interrupt your hatefest on Mother Theresa, but are some facts that she did a lot more than provide some cots and pray for sick Indian kids:
With the help of Indian officials she converted an abandoned Hindu temple into the Kalighat Home for the Dying, a free hospice for the poor. She renamed it Kalighat, the Home of the Pure Heart (Nirmal Hriday).[37] Those brought to the home received medical attention and were afforded the opportunity to die with dignity, according to the rituals of their faith; Muslims were read the Quran, Hindus received water from the Ganges, and Catholics received the Last Rites.[38]
Mother Teresa soon opened a home for those suffering from Hansen's disease, commonly known as leprosy, and called the hospice Shanti Nagar (City of Peace).[39] The Missionaries of Charity also established several leprosy outreach clinics throughout Calcutta, providing medication, bandages and food.[40]
By 2007 the Missionaries of Charity numbered approximately 450 brothers and 5,000 sisters worldwide, operating 600 missions, schools and shelters in 120 countries.[46]
In 1982, at the height of the Siege of Beirut, Mother Teresa rescued 37 children trapped in a front line hospital by brokering a temporary cease-fire between the Israeli army and Palestinian guerrillas.[47] Accompanied by Red Cross workers, she traveled through the war zone to the devastated hospital to evacuate the young patients.[48]

How many schools, shelters, health clinics, food pantries, and hospices for the poor can you name that were founded by atheists?

You should read Christopher Hitchens' take on Mother Theresa. Needless to say, it does not conform to the romantic tripe you have been feed and obviously believe. Quit depending on the church to do your thinking for you and educate yourself rather than spouting off bite-sized, church approved platitudes as if they were truth...

I put a really short one first (although the last one is best), since I suspect your attention span when it comes to something you don't want to hear might be a bit short. But again, educate yourself, or at least hear another point of view, even if it's somehting that doesn't stroke your ego and further your belief in a scared cow...
