Just asking I am still interested in that stuff because I saw the unintended effects of those requirements in patient care. Since it all started from a political case in new York and has filtered down from there I wouldn't have thought the program directors would have been as shocked if they still had the 16 hour rule in new York. Btw in practice that rule limits interns to 14 hour shifts because of the other rule that you must have a minimum of 10 hours off between shifts. Pathetic.

I question the Asian vote fact.

The other "facts" I'll give you. Bottom line....
Repeal the 26th Amendment
End Women's Suffrage

No.
This current political climate needs to change

For a little perspective, consider the votes of another minority -- Asians. Romney won among all voters making more than $100,000 a year by a margin of 54-44. Asian-Americans happen to be the highest-earning group in the U.S., out-earning whites, and they generally place enormous emphasis on family. A perfect fit for Republicans, no?
No. Asians voted for Obama by 73-26; they were more Democratic than Hispanics.

"A record number of Asian voters - three per cent of the electorate - also turned out, with nearly three-quarters backing Obama. He also won a staggering 93 per cent of African-American votes."

Damn straight it needs to change. As Limbaugh said yesterday,
when voters act and think like children, you can't outvote Santa Claus. That is what must change in the political climate. Since with Obamacare, you can be 25 and be on your parent's health insurance, you are not an adult anymore until you hit 26....
...and women need to start getting married again or they will continue to vote on women's "issues" instead of what is important for their family (the way men vote.) Until then....
Repeal the 26th Amendment
End Women's Suffrage...
or we'll become Greece and then we're fucked.

Please note that these statistics are from 2009, a year before obamacare was signed into law:
U.S. healthcare spending amounted to more than 18 percent of GDP, compared with 12 percent less with the other industrialized countries.
High U.S. spending on healthcare cannot be explained by either greater supply or higher utilization of healthcare services. There were 2.4 physicians per 100,000 population in the U.S. in 2009, fewer than in all the countries in the study except for Japan.
The U.S. also had the fewest doctor consultations (3.9 per capita) of any country except Sweden
U.S. hospital stays were far more expensive than those in other countries -- more than $18,000 per discharge. By comparison, the cost per discharge in Canada was about $13,000, while in Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, France and Germany, it was less than $10,000.
Magnetic imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (DT) scans were the most expensive in the U.S., and American physicians received the highest fees for primary care office visits

Why an MRI Costs $1080 in America and $280 in France - The Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezr ... _blog.html
The United States spends more on health care than any of the other OECD countries spend, without providing more services than the other countries do," the study concluded. "This suggests that the difference in spending is mostly attributable to higher prices of goods and services."

It won't happen, but I really, really, really, REALLY hope the tea-party embraces IB's stance

Two of the five most profitable industries in the United States -- the pharmaceuticals industry and the medical device industry -- sell health care. With margins of almost 20 percent, they beat out even the financial sector for sheer profitability.
The players sitting across the table from them -- the health insurers -- are not so profitable. In 2009, their profit margins were a mere 2.2 percent. That's a signal that the sellers have the upper hand over the buyers.

Something every economist and business lawyer has always told me, don't trust any company profit margins.

And if you combined the penis lengths of all of the non-libs who post here, it'd still be less than 5 inches.
