Don't read the news much?

No, never.

What if we win by 4?

4-3 is still +1 for Bama. Isn't that enough for a win?

Anyway, regular season wins do not mitigate post season losses.
This is what bothers me about the argument that LSU-Alabama should happen even if LSU loses the SEC championship game. Some games do matter more than others, and a conference championship game is a game that ought to mean more than it's seemingly going to mean in this case. I have no problem with the expected rematch in the BCS title game if things go according to plan on Saturday. If the national championship game fields two teams that couldn't win their own league, however, I have a problem with that.

It would be pretty funny though, Jason. Georgia as SEC champ and Bama and LSU playing for the title.

Of course, Georgia has as much chance winning as Van Nostrun has at fitting into his old HS letterman jacket.

It would be another nail in the coffin for the BCS' credibility. I suppose that would be a plus, at least.

Are you pro playoff?

I've gotta say, a plus one would be nice this year. LSU vs Okie Lite and Bama vs VaTech/Stanford, with the winners meeting.

No, but I've made my peace with playoffs, because I strongly suspect a playoff system is coming in some form when the BCS contract is up in 2014. The continued insistence on using computer rankings in the BCS formula baffles me, and the current tie-in system has really killed off a lot of the interest in the second- and third-tier games. Part of what made the bowl system compelling(back when it was compelling) is that your team could earn a bid almost anywhere in the country, to face off against a team it wouldn't otherwise see. Now, you know going into a season that three-quarters of the games are off-limits. If the bowl system is to continue, that needs to change. Fans don't want to see their teams going to the same two or three destinations over and over again.

Every week is a playoff game is a joke. And this isn't a knock on Bama but all they have to do is NOTHING this week and BAM!!, they get to play for the national championship. That makes ZERO sense especially when Okie State has to play along with LSU this week. The even bigger joke is that LSU doesn't even need to WIN this week to play for the national championship.

Keep the BCS bowls, 4 teams get matched up, sorry number 5 but gotta draw the line somewhere, winners play the weekend before the Super Bowl at some predetermined location on Sunday night. Problem solved.

8 is to many because then it really does make the every week a playoff game a bigger joke. Top 4 and you should have less arguments about the national champ.

Okie State is playing a regular season game this week. Their game is this week because they moved it due to no BigXII CCG.

It's the obvious solution for everyone. Georgia has a better chance than Doc fitting into his HS letterman's jacket, dickhead...

Improbable that Georgia wins; Impossible that Doc fits into his letterman's jacket -- he ate it.

So Georgia-LSU this weekend and the "game of the century" from earlier this year are two of the most meaningless games on the entire schedule this year. Hooray for "BCS makes every game matter"
