My point was that the signature didn't mean anything unless he was willing to actually freeze the debt ceiling. Pols have been playing this game for 40 years, making non-binding statements or votes that they know won't sink a deal, so they can stake good ground with their constituencies. They all do it so much that I don't even look at it as a credibility issue. It's cats just playing the game the way it's always been played, knowing that it won't stop the machine.
This time (and 2011) is just different (at least it feels that way). I think these bitches really believe not raising the debt limit will have no real impact to our country and economy. It's fucking idiotic to think that way. It's totally scaring the shit out of my compatriots in my part of town and I'm sure scaring the shit out of some Republicans who don't think the normal political con game is being run and that these crazies really want to not raise the debt ceiling and force some piecemeal payment structure that will send the markets into an uproar.
God bless your 401(k)s. You think your Social Security benefit is not going to happen when you retire? Just watch what happens when the world's reserve currency is effectively considered meaningless by the people elected to protect it. Asshats.

I understand the sentiment, but where do we draw a line in the sand? The sentiment that Obama had in 2006 is still valid. The difference is Senator Obama could afford to speak to an issue that didn't cost him politically. I personally want the debt limit raised but with some understanding that this will be capped and it will not be negotiable. Senator Obama would agree with that.

If not raising the debt ceiling is so goddamn awful, why doesn't Obama agree to extend Obamacare enrollment for a year to get the R's on board?

yea, funny - isn't it those same guys he's railing against now?
No, the House for the debt ceiling. Both for the continuing resolution, but he wasn't talking about the continuing resolution. Technicalities, but it is what it is.

What would Bob Jones and his progeny say about you taking the Lord's name in vain?

I'm not going to answer the Obamacare question. Enough people have done that for me on EVERY channel that airs news.
On the Moodys point...fuck a ratings agency. Opinion only matters to me when real data is not available. Look at the short term rates spike and tell me it's no big deal.
Get out of the echo chamber.

Hard to say who has the best ass b/w Roosevelt, Jefferson and Washington, but Lincoln has by far the worst...

I said from the beginning that I'd be most pissed if I just been skating along without having to pay shit and now all of a sudden the government is doing me the "favor" of letting me actually pay for my own health insurance. <Irish girlfriend from Caddy Shack voice>Thanks for nut'in!</IgfCSv>. You would think making the slackers and sluggards actually having to pay their own way would brings costs down for everyone. After all, the "official" reason that health insurance cost so much was b/c the ones who were paying were having to pay extra for all those that didn't pay. Now we're getting all the slackers to pay their own way, and guess what? My rate now goes up 150%. I'm sure they'll find a way to explain that...

Christ you're dumb. Anybody that thought ACA was going to lower cost is either an idiot or a true believer and since it isnt a U*NC athletic team I know which one that makes you.
