After we lose to Vandy, I expect brown paper bags to become a big part of the Jordan-Hare game day experience.

Professor Tiger wrote:The REC will make sure the media will rail on us no matter what we do. That argument's a wash. Trying to get the media to love Auburn is like trying to get Arabs to love America.

The good will that Chiz has built with families is down to, "Come to Auburn! Join the dozens of other 4 and 5 star athletes who will experience bowl season from their living room couch! Figure out your chances of making it to the NFL from a bottom tier SEC team!"

I can imagine Petrino trying to recruit against Saban too. "Come to Auburn. I know how to coach teams that kick ass, including that little guy across state. Yeah, I mess with women. I can teach you how to do that too."

Petrino can be the Bill Clinton of college football coaches. You won't want to leave him alone with your wife and daughter, but he is really really good at his job.
If by " I know how to coach teams that kick ass, including that little guy across state" you mean losing every time Petrino has faced Saban as a coach, then you'd be right.

I just made a rare visit to ITAT's free message board. As you might expect, there is a lot of material there.

Out of the hundred or so posts I read, not one supports Chizik. Not a single one. The universal assumption is that he will be fired after this season. The only argument is whether we hire Petrino or not. The anti-Petrino block seems to be winning.

I suspect that the powers that be will keep Chizik around for one more year. I hope I'm wrong.

Auburn football has hit rock bottom and has begun to dig.

Why? People complaining about how they smell down at Auburn?

They both keep bitchin'... just thought we'd give 'em something else to complain about for a few more years.

We don't blame all our problems on the ref's, though.

Are you implying that I blame the refs for anything?

Tennessee fans in general. Not necessarily 10ac in particular.

AA, why do you keep announcing you are leaving, but then keep coming back?

Ya'll suck and I'm still very worried about playing you. Also worried about Ole Miss. Probably won't matter after we lose to Florida, but those two games have landmine written all over them.

You won't lose to Florida

DDAL, trust me; you have zero point zero chance of losing to Auburn this year. We just lost to both Mississippi schools and Vandy. We're so bad that directional schools want to schedule us for homecoming.

Anymore, we can't beat Georgia even when we're good and you're bad.

"Quickest fall from grace ever."

Faster than that dude who coached Alabama who AA claims wasn't really their coach...

It's sad to see AA reject his former coach after all that Mike Price did to bring Bama back to national prominence.

It says right there he took the job. Why is AA claiming he wasn't the coach?

Yeah, Mike Price was hired as Bama's coach:

And Mike Price was fired as as Bama's coach:

In between, Price publicly rejected the possibility of resigning as Bama's coach:

Yet AA steadfastly contends Price was never Bama's coach.

Mike never signed a contract and never coached a game. While he would've been a big improvement over Shula, he doesn't meet the critical and necessary criteria to be considered a former head coach.

He, at best, was like a president-elect who committed suicide before Inauguration Day.
