Auburn's Payroll: Tens of Thousands for Lovely Young coeds to "encourage" recruits to attend Auburn
Last year's recruiting class ranked #1. This one probably will be too. Those gals are doing a great job.

GBJ, you may not have invented "Worth Every Cent," but you perfected it and made it your own.

Like Hacksaw's "9:1"

And AA's "Ah, the apostate 'preacher' returns" and "Gentlemen, Bama is in Trouble" and "Mike Price never coached at Bama"

And Rat's "My pee smells like ham"

And Wiz's "STFU"

Always stick with the classics.

First it was Mike Blakely. He was an outstanding RB Auburn heavily recruited, but at the last minute switched to Florida. He spends a year with the Gators, decides he doesn't like the Gainesville scene, and decides to transfer to Auburn.

Now, its Corey Grant. He was another outstanding RB from OPELIKA that Auburn heavily recruited, who drinks the Saban kool-aid and decided to sign with Alabama. ("Yeah, Corey, we already have five RB's that would all start at any other program in the nation, and three that are serious Heisman candidates, but we really want YOU!") Surprise surprise, he winds up as a reserve defensive back. Now, he is transferring to Auburn:

Corey had little to no business at UA... Good kid who handled himself and his responsibilities well, so I wish him luck. He will probably be better off in the Malzahn type hide and seek offense than the Saban type here I come try and stop me offense.

Are they just putting that on al.com? I saw it over a week ago at wollyal, Jama's site.

Yeah, good luck to him. He knew it would be tough to crack the top 4 (playing rotation) for RB. He said so himself in interviews. He was just confident that he was good enough to do so. When he couldn't make the 2-deep at any position he decided to leave. Can't imgaine why he chose Auburn, though. It's not like the Tigers are absent talent at RB (including at least one young 5-star back in Dyer). It will be interesting to see if he ever plays.

Before the recent apparent additions of Grant and Blakely, we were very thin at RB. Dyer and McCalleb are solid starters, but after them, we had nobody. We signed Tre Mason last year, be he is questionable as a qualifier. Kwon Bray will supposedly be a WR. That RB depth problem still isn't really solved because Grant and Blakely are both probably going to sit out a year. There is a lot of talk about Ladarius Phillips as an RB next year. He would be an Ironhead Heyward/ Refrigerator Perry type runner.

As a running back, Refrigerator Perry = Terrence Cody = fat and slow but don't get in front of 'em.

Grant will obviously sit a year, but like I said, will eventually be better in Gus' hide and seek offense.

Neither will unseat Dyer.

We need RB's in case Dyer gets hurt, not to unseat him. Injury is a distinct possibility since he will be carrying the inside load by himself all season. McCalleb is skinny and fast, and therefore strictly an outside runner.

You could say the same thing about Grant as McCalleb. Either way, they're both BG/TC now.

It's not the little people, it's the people on staff recruiting players with moral fiber which make Tater Tot's recruits look like choir boys.
