Also, clearly you should consider a nice discussion with hedge over the pros and cons of gray backgrounds vs blue ones.

When you have colored font on top of gray (as in the old minesweeper), it enhances your ability to see. When it's black letters against gray, not so much. Likewise colored fonts on a background of bright color. Not good...

In your case, don't you play "Minor Sweeper"

A person good at minesweeper never blames the colors.

It's not just the colors, it's also the fact that the individual squares on the new version get slightly brighter when you hold the arrow over them, with the overall effect being, obviously, a constant confusing (or at the very least distracting and therefor annoying) appearance of squares lighting up and then going back off. It's like a goddamn circus. I don't want bright colors and flashing lights, I want flat gray and no flashing lights. It's really not alot to ask...
