Jesus is just Santa Claus on steroids. A mythical guy who promises you a reward if you're "good" and punishment if you're "bad". But at least you actually get the reward in the case of Santa (if your parents care to play the game, that is)...

Hedge, how 'bout George Bernard Shaw? We need to keep a watchful eye on him too. You can't trust those Irishmen, ya know.
Unless you require that a certain amount of oil produce in the U.S. not be sold on the open market and cost restrictive, then it doesn't matter whether it's frack or not. Prices even if home produced will still be subject to the world market which means we'll still be catering to the middle east as much as we do now.

Well well, whodathunkit? Another haughty prediction by a progressive doesn't quite pan out.....from earlier this month:

The U.S. Gulf Coast—home to the world's largest concentration of petroleum refineries—is suddenly awash in crude oil.

So much high-quality U.S. oil is flowing into the area that the price of crude there has dropped sharply in the past few weeks and is no longer in sync with global prices.

In fact, some experts believe a U.S. oil glut is coming. "We are moving toward a significant amount of domestic oversupply of light crude," says Ed Morse, head of commodities research at Citigroup.

....one mo time:

So much high-quality U.S. oil is flowing into the area that the price of crude there has dropped sharply in the past few weeks and is no longer in sync with global prices.

gas prices have dropped the last 2 weeks where you are?? Not in Texas. Not in Louisiana. Not in Maryland. Gas prices have only had the instrumental changes that they've been. Went up for Thanksgiving, dropped a little after, likely to go up again as Christmas gets closer.

But at least Toe is acknowledging that this administration U.S. oil production policies are not restrictive. Opening up Yellowstone for drilling? Not.

From what I'm seeing, the price of gas is down by at least 15 cents per gallon in Alabama over a month ago.

The historical Jesus, if he existed, is likely to have looked like he came from a family that had lived in the Middle East for 2000 years. In other words, he was probably a lot like today's Middle Eastern folks. Not the paragon of the Nordic race with light sandy brown hair that Megyn Kelly imagines he must have been.
FWIW, here is the oldest known surviving depiction of Jesus:

Image

It's a Greek Orthodox icon from the 6th-7th century, and has been in St. Catherine's monastery in Egypt most of the time since. He looks pretty much like a standard Middle Easterner. Some say it bears a striking resemblance to the image on the Shroud of Turin.

And I don't think there is any doubt that Jesus actually existed. Both the Roman Pliny and Jewish Josephus were from the 1st century, opponents of Christianity, yet acknowledged the existence of the man Jesus in their writings.

CAIRO -- Snow coated domes and minarets Friday as a record Mideast storm compounded the suffering of Syrian refugees, sent the Israeli army scrambling to dig out stranded motorists and gave Egyptians a rare glimpse of snow in their capital.

Nearly three feet of snow closed roads in and out of Jerusalem, which is set in high hills, and thousands in and around the city were left without power. Israeli soldiers and police rescued hundreds trapped in their cars by snow and ice. In the West Bank, the branches of olive trees groaned under the weight of snow.

In Cairo, where local news reports said the last recorded snowfall was more than 100 years ago, children in outlying districts capered in white-covered streets, and adults marveled at the sight, tweeting pictures of snow-dusted parks and squares.

Was there a global warming conference in Cairo? That Man-Made Global Warming Religion is having some real problems with the growing pile of inconvenient disproofs. If this keeps up, Al Gore and the whole MMGW industry will need a whole new scam/profit center.

A month ago (in Louisiana), Sam's Club gas was 2.90. Got up to 3.05 for Thanksgiving. Now it's at 3.00.

Tell that to the parents of the kids who were shot to death in the Colorado school today.
