Duke. In the ACCCG. In football.

We are not Duke.
And we are not Missouri. We won't be dropping 8 against a run-heavy team. Or missing tackles left and right. Believe that.

But like Missouri, we have great receivers. Like Auburn, we have great running backs. Like TAMU, we have a great QB.

Who are these great receivers? Your best is Rashad Green, who is ranked #40.

I agree you have a great QB. Almost certainly the best.

On a different note, I just found out this surprising statistic. Who won SEC Championships of the past 10 years and how many:

Auburn - 3 (2013, 2010, 2004)
Alabama - 2 (2012, 2009)
LSU - 2 (2011, 2007)
Florida - 2 (2006, 2008)
Georgia - 1 (2005)

I was especially amazed that, despite beating us like drums, Georgia has only won 1 SEC championship in the past 10 years. This despite permanent top 10 recruiting and sending a battalion of players to the NFL over the past decade. No wonder the Dawg fans are getting more and more whiny and bitter.

Kevi- There is no way in HELL you stroll through an SEC schedule without a loss. This is the GOD DAMN SEC we are talking about here. Not in your wildest delusion could you possibly play the following schedule and come out with fewer than 3 losses:

Virginia Tech
BYE WEEK
@ Texas A&M
Colorado State
Ole Miss
Georgia State
@ Kentucky
Arkansas
Tennessee
BYE WEEK
LSU
@ Mississippi State
Chattanooga
@ Auburn (we're about to find out!!)

That's possibly the toughest schedule ever devised by the madman calling himself Mike Slive. There are no easy games! There are no BYE weeks (except two)! There ain't even a chance to catch your breath. MY GAWD...y'all wouldn't have any healthy players left on your sad little team.

If each of our top three receivers has a below average but productive game (19, 43, and 71 yards) and our top RB has a below average but productive game (57 yards), we will have three receivers with 1,000 yards and a RB with 1,000. Care to guess when that's been done before? Pretty sure it's never. You might be able to shut one receiver down, but not all three. Not with your secondary. None of them has been featured through the whole season because we are so. damned. balanced. That's why they don't show up in the total yards statistics. Throw in a TE with 550+ yards and 7 TDs, and two other RBs with 1200+ between them...

But they suck because not SEC! SEC! SEC! - I get it.

BTW, sort the receiver list by average yards per catch and it paints a better picture of the balance

Sort by # receptions - 1 FSU receiver in top 80
Sort by receiving yards - 3 FSU receivers (inc. TE) in the top 52
Sort by avg reception - 2 FSU receivers in top 24 + #1 TE

Keep reading the Total Yards stat sheets...I don't find them particularly illustrative of how good a team's offense or defense really is.

I took your challenge and looked up WR's by yards per catch.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/sta ... rReception

ranked #2. Sammie Coates. Auburn.

It's not that funny, it's a fact. Coates is a hell of a receiver and is going to present problems for our defense. He's fast as hell and Marshall has a big arm, and we're probably going to play man-to-man coverage to defend the run. If he gets behind our defense, it's a TD.

However, the next Auburn receiver on that list is the miracle man, Ricardo Louis, at #300. My point of emphasis in the previous post was balance, not big play ability. We only have one big play receiver, Kelvin Benjamin, and his skillset is outjumping and running through defenders, not great speed. Our only big play RB is Karlos Williams, who doesn't get the rock that much because he's still learning the position (3 years at safety, 11 games at RB) and doesn't block as well as Devonta Freeman. Once he gets moving though, he has breakaway speed and at 220#, he's a load.

Cherrypicking. Several SEC team's schedules were much tougher than bama's (33). Six had SOS' ranked in the top 15 (LSU is #1).

The average SOS rank for every SEC team is 19.3. The weakest is ARK at 40. Florida State is 41.

tOSU is 63

If you want to talk to any higher ups, we'd be happy to receive an SEC invite. In the meantime, what should we do? We had UF and WVU as OOC opponents; it's not our fault WVU cancelled and UF sucked. WVU has been a traditionally good team (not the last year and a half obviously)...next year we have Okie Lite, plus ND and Louisville as new conference members.

But that IS an SEC schedule. And it's not atypical. That's the kind of schedule that SEC goobers insist, promise, and vow that no one outside the SEC can possibly handle. That's the kind of schedule that would chew FSU up and spit it out. MY GAWD...Jimbo would have a stroke if he tried to take that on.

Sure, Missouri beat the shit out of most of the SEC, but that's only because they already had a powerhouse program!!

Here's Auburn's schedule...I DARE FSU TO TRY AND ONLY LOSE ONCE AGAINST THIS BEAST! There are no weak games! There is no time to rest! Every week you can expect to lose 2/3 of your team from exhaustion and the rest from injury!

Washington State (TOSS-UP!)
Arkansas State
Mississippi State (TOSS-UP!)
@ LSU (LOSS!)
BYE WEEK
Ole Miss (LOSS!)
Western Carolina
@ Texas A&M (LOSS!)
Florida Atlantic
@ Arkansas
@ Tennessee (TOSS-UP!)
Georgia (LOSS)
BYE WEEK
Alabama (LOSS)

No better than 7-5, that's what I perdict PAUL!!

LSU's schedule. If there's a computer poll saying this was the toughest schedule in the country, I'll take your word for it. Must've been a shitty year around college football. Also, I love the strategically placed bye weeks. All the SEC powers seem to have them. No way in hell they are just random.

TCU (4-8)
UAB (2-10)
Kent State (4-8)
Auburn (12-1)
@ Georgia (8-4)
@ Miss State (6-6)
Florida (4-8)
@ Ole Miss (7-5)
Furman (FCS)
BYE WEEK
@ Alabama (11-1)
BYE WEEK
Texas A&M (8-4)
Arkansas (3-9)

If FSU played LSU's schedule, they would certainly be challenged by four opponents - LSU, Alabama, TAMU and Auburn. The Noles would probably lose to one. Maybe more. By contrast, if LSU, Alabama, TAMU and Auburn played FSU's schedule, they would have a TOTAL of 2 losses, and Manziel would be betting his second Heisman.

How would FSU be challenged by LSU if they were playing LSU's schedule?

Well things sorta change when ya lose, Mr. Rickart.

Urbz also got beat by a staff that's made up of Tressel refugees. Ironic.
It isn't ironic. In the end, traditional, smash-mouth, power football and stifling defenses will win most of the time against equal talent employing one of the spread variants.
