U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
guess those legislators dont know how to separate church and state
problem is neither did our founding fathers as evidenced by our judiciary references, monetary references, varous governement documents and patriotic songs, along with our history as a nation of celebrating many religious holidays that are increasing being attacked by civil liberites groups.
My personal views abpout organized religions aside I think organized government is reaching too far in intruding over how religious groups must view their world around them.
If the states choose not to recognize gay unions, obamacare requirmnents for birth cpontrol in religious hospitals, the rmoval of undergod in the pledge, the removal of navitiy scenes in a religious holiday etc etc. I'm all right with that. Just as I think its all right for states to choose to recognize gay unions, enforce no religious paraphenellia on state government sites etc etc.
If christianity has existed for hundreds and hundreds of years recognizing traditional marriage, being antibortion, and certain other practices--is it really within the governments right to tell religions you cant do it that way you have to change your religious practices? especially when your talking about wholescale changes the last 50 years to practices that have been around for hundreds of years
eventually I think catholics, baptists, etc will change in their views of some issues but to have it shoved down their throat by the government creates a lot of hostility and backlash. those who dont practice religion feel like they are having their rights trampled on--cant the same be true by those who do prace religion?

Re: Florida State Seminoles
The founding fathers did not make religious references blurring church and state in judicial, monetary or patriotic songs. Maybe your definition of founding fathers is off.

Well done
-Newt GingrichSome of the people who are most opposed to oppression from Washington attack Mandela when he was opposed to oppression in his own country. After years of preaching non-violence, using the political system, making his case as a defendant in court, Mandela resorted to violence against a government that was ruthless and violent in its suppression of free speech.
As Americans we celebrate the farmers at Lexington and Concord who used force to oppose British tyranny. We praise George Washington for spending eight years in the field fighting the British Army’s dictatorial assault on our freedom.
Patrick Henry said, “Give me liberty or give me death.”
Thomas Jefferson wrote and the Continental Congress adopted that “all men are created equal, and they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Doesn’t this apply to Nelson Mandela and his people?
Some conservatives say, ah, but he was a communist.
Actually Mandela was raised in a Methodist school, was a devout Christian, turned to communism in desperation only after South Africa was taken over by an extraordinarily racist government determined to eliminate all rights for blacks.I would ask of his critics: where were some of these conservatives as allies against tyranny? Where were the masses of conservatives opposing Apartheid? In a desperate struggle against an overpowering government, you accept the allies you have just as Washington was grateful for a French monarchy helping him defeat the British.
The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

a speech given by David Simon on how capitalism has lost its moral compass with social impact
"We understand profit. In my country we measure things by profit. We listen to the Wall Street analysts. They tell us what we're supposed to do every quarter. The quarterly report is God. Turn to face God. Turn to face Mecca, you know. Did you make your number? Did you not make your number? Do you want your bonus? Do you not want your bonus?"

Re: Florida State Seminoles
money--in god we trust prominantly on display
swearing in oaths--so help me God
declaration of independance uses god once and creator twice
all 50 state constitutions reference god
america the beautiful--god shed his grace on thee
US supreme court--moses holdng 10 commandments
washington, lincoln and jefforson memorials all have references to bible and god inscribed on the building
house and senate all have references to god in chambers
all of these institutions should be altered because it insults the godless minority?
christmas should be altered because it insults the godless minority?
I agree with some of the libs--dont let the right wing religious zealots control the government but dont go overboard the otherway and remove all references to a creator and all biblical government references on which a lot of our legal system is based just because you think a big bang came out of nothing to create the universe

Re: Florida State Seminoles
The ACA doesn't require birth control in religious hospitals. The hospitals can still refuse to allow you to get a tubal ligation in their hospital. They can still refuse to give out birth control pills. But they can't tell an employee that they can't go out and get a tubal ligation elsewhere. They can't say that in the insurance that is available that you can't get any psychiatric care (as a religion believes) or that you cannot receive any blood tranfusions (as a religion believes) or that your child may only be circumcised by brit milah. If they want to keep that right, stay out of the marketplace. Once you enter into public commerce then you risk having some of your religious preferences (peyote, snake healing) hindered.obamacare requirmnents for birth cpontrol in religious hospitals

All healing must be by faith. Wrap them n a rug and pray over them. Or before insurance pays anything, you must be evaluated by apriest to see if you are possessed by a demon.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Among the institutions joining the lawsuit are Catholic Charities, Catholic University of America, and The Consortium of Catholic Academies -- all of which filed together with the Archdiocese of Washington in U.S. District Court in Washington, DC. The lawsuit challenges provisions of the ACA that the plaintiffs say require "religious organizations to provide coverage for drugs and procedures in direct conflict with their religious beliefs."
The action in Washington was mirrored across the country Monday as a total of 43 Catholic institutions simultaneously filed 12 lawsuits against the ACA.
so its okay that the governemnt changes how they reimburse if they change the rules which directly conflicts your religion?
church needs to stay out of government but govt needs to stay out of church
almost impossilbe to do i know
