Re: Alabama Crimson Tide
I think the (theoretical) FSU/Bama spread was 3 or 3.5 before the loss to AU. They might be favored now but it would likely be in the 1.5 point range.

She felt dissed.
Auburn doesn't deserve the MCG. Both they and the third best OSU are were they are because of luck. Alabama deserves the MCG much more than any of the others. They lost on a fluke (albeit boneheaded) play. AnOSU won on a missed extra point over an unranked team. Alabama wins nine out of ten over Awbarn. Ten out of ten over the third best OSU. Who wants to see another Florida team curb stomp anOSU? And I hate Bammer. Anyway, IMHO irregardless.

What do you mean by third best OSU team? Their 3rd best team ever? Or third best team in the country this year?

Alabama deserves the MCG much more than any of the others.
Alabama and Auburn both have one loss. Alabama's lone loss came from Auburn. Auburn gets the tiebreaker by any definition.
They lost on a single, game-decisive special teams play. FIFY.They lost on a fluke (albeit boneheaded) play.
I remember in 2010 when Bama beat Tennessee on a last-second blocked extra point, won the game, and went on to win a NC. By your logic Bama's victory by a last second blocked kick was a fluke and therefore their NC was undeserved. I don't recall anybody saying that.

Re: Alabama Crimson Tide
Their victory over Georgia in the SEC title game last year was kinda dicey as well, IIRC. Not saying they won on a fluke play, but didn't Ga. just miss scoring on the last play or some such (that would've won the game for them)?

That's taking it too far. A pistol-whipping would've sufficed...

Re: Alabama Crimson Tide
Auburn won two games on fluke, lucky plays.
Ohio State stopped a two-point conversion to save the game. Not seeing the connection between that and a hail mary or a play that happens maybe once every 5 years tops.

Auburn deserves it. The Big 10 is a dumpster fire. Hell, Id give Alabama another chance before the Suckeyes. Ohio States D is horrible.

Re: Alabama Crimson Tide
apparently DSL has forgotten that Ohio State needed to defend a two-point conversion to avoid losing to a team that could barely beat Akron and barely beat a UConn so poor it fired its coach only four games in.
(In addition to losing to Penn State, Nebraska, Iowa and Michigan State.)

Re: Alabama Crimson Tide
Auburn barely beat a team that barely held on to beat Bowling Green on its home field. But that was coming off brutal games against Washington State and Arkansas State, so it's totally understandable.dave_rickart wrote:apparently DSL has forgotten that Ohio State needed to defend a two-point conversion to avoid losing to a team that could barely beat Akron and barely beat a UConn so poor it fired its coach only four games in.

Struggling to beat Mississippi State at home 24-20 = understandable. Excellent win
Struggling to beat Michigan on the road 42-41 = lucky. horrific performance. Disgraceful.

Re: Alabama Crimson Tide
The last time FSU played Urban Meyer, there's a famous clip of Eddie Gran turning to Jimbo Fisher and saying, "He quit. Your boy quit." Meyer retired shortly after.
Hopefully his heart makes it through this game unscathed (if FSU and anOSU make it through this weekend).

Re: Alabama Crimson Tide
What are the odds on Missouri to win the national championship? That might be a decent bet.
