Here was the opening paragraph of a story on the game:

"Imagine Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" ending with a triumphant armpit fart. "Hamlet" ending with an alien invasion. "Citizen Kane" revealing that Rosebud was a Happy Meal toy. Now you're starting to see what Sunday night's Manning-Brady XIV showdown was like: a classic football game that ended on the worst of clunkers."
I want someone's ass blistered in the middle of Thanksgiving Square.

Last night's game was vintage Tom Brady.

Peyton should have just kept handing the ball off to the Moreno.

Meh - I would have settled for a tie. Why Welker allowed that ball to hit the ground is a mystery...guess he didn't feel like just waving his arm and catching the MFer.

Barring injury to PM, Denver looks like a solid #1 seed (after KC, their only road games are @ Houston and @ Oakland). KC will likely drop at least two, and the pats have to go to Miami and Baltimore.

I expect to see DEN vs NE at Mile High for the AFCCG. Two weeks later, DEN vs SEA.

Last night's game was (from a playoffs standpoint) all about New England doing ALL THAT THEY CAN to prevent Denver from getting home field throughout the playoff. The Pats can't control anything else with Denver. They have to hope that KC steps up at Arrowhead (which may or may not happen) and they have to hope that someone else steps up vs KC the way San Diego did. That game last night have a "playoff feel" to it with the Pats being absolutely desperate to win that game, after going down 24-0 at halftime.

Seattle is awesome. Just awesome. Maybe unbeatable at this point. Although I'd argue that the way Carolina has been playing lately, the Panthers could give them a game.

Didn't Denver have home field advantage last year?

I just dont see Denver making it to the AFC Championship Game. Peyton is horrible in the cold & Moreno just blew his wad.

just read this tidbit on ESPN.com:

"According to the ESPN Stats & Information group, teams that trailed by 24 points or more at halftime were 5-485 heading into Sunday night."

yes

and they lost in the divisional round to Baltimore. Oops. that was 1997-esque in their loss at home to Mark Brunell and those Jag-U-ars.

peyton is the king of breaking hearts first game of the playoffs

but if they get their shit togeter I think denver does have the best D--when their defensive backs are relatively healthy

sure looks like both should be in the afc championship game

never works out that way though

Last year DEN had a rusty 1st yr qb with a nearly-broken neck. Now he's fully healed and up to speed.

The past is past. To quote the enigmatic Willard Mitt Romney: "Tomorrow we begin a new tomorrow."

Peyton has traditionally stunk in the cold. His bad neck didn't seem to hurt him at the start of last year or this one. He got worse towards the end of last season. Expect it this year too. Not horrible, but not as good as Sept. Prob part age and part just not playing at the same level in cold weather

At least you didn't suffer it firsthand. It was a cold, wet, and miserable day that day - worse weather in Orlando that day than Knoxville or Columbus put together.

Luckily Peyton had a rare good day in inclement weather.

Fun fact about Georgia Tech's ill-fated 1963 decision to leave the SEC to hopefully become "the Notre Dame of the South":

GT's average home football attendance was higher in '63 than it is today.
