I bet you think Grosse Point Blanke is a coming of age high school movie too.
U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.

I don't know if Goodfellas is in my top 10 but its up there. I like Westerns which is probably why it wouldn't get in. I'd rate Tombstone higher I think.

It would take me awhile to put together my top 10. I'm not sure I could even name my favorite movie.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

hmm..I know what movies I'm supposed to say are my favorites like Citizen Kane.

But I think these are mine

Tombstone
Apocalypse Now
Full Metal Jacket
Hondo (which I rate higher than The Searchers)
Outlaw Josie Wales (which I rate higher than Unforgiven ..I know, I know)
Forrest Gump (Fuck You - I like the movie)
Sargeant York
The Godfather
Its A Wonderful Life
Shawshank Redemption

Depending on my mood there are probably 30 more that would pop in there on another day.

I guess tonight was the season finale of Boardwalk Empire.

It didn't go in the direction I wanted it to but I have to admit there were several surprises.

Rio Bravo
Casablanca
Casino
Godfather
Blazing Saddles
Monty Python the Holy Grail
All that Jazz (the medical symbolism in the finale, I just love)
In the Heat of the Night
Flight of the Phoenix (the original, not the remake)
Unforgiven
My Dad is my hero still.

Too many good ones to limit it. Depends on my mood.

For example, there are moods I get in where Dr. Strangelove, Apollo 13, Bladerunner, Jackie Brown, and many others make appearances on my list.

No way could I do a Top 10. However, I give e a "side eye" for saying he loved Westerns but doesn't have Unforgiven as the best Western ever. I like a lot of Westerns, but William Munny's story kicked everyone's asses.

I also will never budge Shawshank and Coming To America from my tops.

(I am on the last ep of BE. I did not watch at all and just went through a marathon viewing after I finished a big project Thursday. I'll catch the finale tomorrow night)

my criteria for top 10 would be - if I'm walking thru a room and its on the TV , will I stop and sit thru it, even with commercials?

also, am I constantly quoting lines from that movie?

I liked Unforgiven but I still like the idea of the western as a guy who lives with a code. Munny's character kind of destroyed that image. Its a great movie, but I thought Josie Wales was a well done 50's era movie . Admittedly John Ford would have loved Unforgiven which was along the lines of his transformation of John Wayne in the Searchers. (But I rate Hondo higher than The Searchers, so there you go)

I guess I'm hesitant to put comedies in my top 10. I thought about Blazing Saddles and a nod to Ferris Bueller (coming of age movie for me).

I still rate Trading Places as Eddie Murphy's best comedy but I wish there was a sequel to Coming to America featuring the Mighty Sharp Barbers.

Why do you rate Flight of the Phoenix so high? I mean I liked it, anything with Jimmy Stewart is going to be a great movie but I never would have considered that one for my top 10.

It would be very hard to name a top 10, but I know for sure that Apocalypse Now, No Country for Old Men, Mulholland Dr., and Synecdoche, New York would be in there. At one time I would've said Cool Hand Luke and Five Easy Pieces, and while they are still and will always be great movies, my reaction to them now is different from what it was 20 years ago or even 10 years ago...

As far as westerns, I liked the remake of 3:10 to Yuma as much as Unforgiven...

I like westerns. Old spaghettis like The G, B, and the U, Paint Your Wagon as well as the newer ones like Tombstone, Pale Rider, and the like.

Speaking of westerns, How the West was Won is a fav and TMWS Liberty Valance.

And military movies from old (Dirty Dozen) to new (Private Ryan).

Just too many to note.

I'm not huge on westerns but I'd have to say Tombstone is my favorite...

at one time in the mid 90's our office in Sao Paulo was next to Playboy Brazil's office. I didn't mind working in the office that week.

people all over Phoenix and Scottsdale were masturbating all over the place Saturday night when ASZoo held on to sting the Bruins. Wont matter. I don't see how the Sun Devils can beat Stanford in Palo Alto for the Rose Bowl. They just don't have enough physical strength on the defensive line to stop the Cardinal when they throw 8 fucking linemen out there and just pound the ball right up the middle (which seems to be all Stanford has to do to win a game.) ASZoo is not a large team on the lines, they are quick finese team. They still need to get past those Wildcats, but this match up does not paly well for the devils.
