Johnson was a freak of nature; if he had learned to pitch five years sooner, he didn't reach the big leagues until 25, he might have won 400 games.

Probably not, but 380 maybe.

IN any case, he was fun to watch.

August 7, 1998. Probably one of the better Dome experiences I ever had. We were sick that year, probably the only team that had the quality and depth to challenge the yankees, but the short series with the ridiculous days off in the middle allowed SD to sneak by. Kevin Brown was sick those games, but we shouldnt have gone out so fucking meekly against Sterling Hitchcock.

Lance rubes a bit more salt in Astro ownership's wounds with another home run tonight.

I know you pretend to follow baseball outside of St Louis, so you should probably take note that the current ownership of the Astros is not same as the one that traded Berkman a year ago and declined to sign him in free agency.

The obvious choice would be to put the Brewers back in the AL where they belong, but Selig will never let that happen as long as he is commish.

"The Gators are headed back to the College World Series once again"

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- North Carolina finished off Stanford, 7-5, on Saturday to win its NCAA Super Regional and secure its fifth College World Series trip in the last six years...

UNC has won 50 games for the fifth time in school history, joining the 1990 and 2006-2008 squads. North Carolina now leads the nation with 37 postseason wins since 2006.

I'd say Kara wanted a new toy for her cats but that lady was clearly too young to be her.
