Of course we want UO or UA to lose so we have a chance to compete for the MNC. I'll obviously be very happy if that happens. But that's the only way we move into the MNC game, even if UF was 11-0 heading into our game. Voters simply refuse to move Bama and Oregon down since they started 1-2, and neither team has really given a reason to do so.

Right now we are BARELY at #2 in the BCS, and we are #1 in five of six computers. If we can't gain the voters' confidence after destroying the #3 team on the road and the #7 team at home, there's no way Baylor is going to break the ranks. UO will retake the #2 spot comfortably if they beat the incredibly overrated Stanford (Miami has struggled but at least beat all their crappy opponents) and continue to win out.

It's obviously a flawed system, but it has worked itself out every year except with Auburn. It would be fitting if the last year of the BCS had five undefeated teams but I will be very surprised if there are more than two unbeatens when the dust settles.

"Are you fucking kidding me? There is ZERO chance that Baylor finishes 12-0."

Kinda like Bama having ZERO chance against aTm? Welp, I guess it's time to bet the house on Baylor going 12-0. Didn't see that one coming, but if IB guarantees it won't happen, it's a sure thing...

It's silly.
Its also moot. Baylor will not win all 5 games. I'll go out on a limb and say that if Baylor beats Oklahoma, they leap over Ohio State. Here is how I see it.

Baylor beats OU and Oregon beats Stanford, BCS poll on Sunday is Alabama #1, Oregon #2, FSU drops to #3, Baylor #4, Ohio State drops to #5.

If (however) Baylor beats OU and Oregon LOSES to Stanford, BCS poll on Sunday is Alabama #1, FSU #2, Baylor #3, and Ohio State #4.

That is assuming that Alabama takes care of business with LSU. I think you will. I think Saban whips Les Miles' ass this year.

I DOUBLE DOG DARE you to bet the house on Baylor. If you don't, you are all just talk.

You and I both know Baylor is NOT going 12-0. No sane human behing believes that.

Not sure I agree with that either, though anOSU has been treated like a redheaded stepchild the last two seasons by the voters. Baylor would likely sneak ahead in the computers but again, I fail to see them jump to #4 in the voters' minds.

Bama is in the strange position of being in a relatively watered down conference this year IMO. It really is a lot like the ACC in years past, except the ACC hasn't had that beacon of excellence at the top. Manziel has been outstanding but I'm not that impressed with the rest of the team outside of Evans; LSU's defense is surprisingly poor (Chavis impact finally being felt?), and UGA and UF have had injuries and major problems on one side of the ball. However, they've earned the benefit of the doubt and are deserving of their spot at the top, and of any possible MNC opponents they are the ones FSU fans would least like to face (Saban with a month of preparation = huge mountain to climb).

Voters have Ohio State at #4 (and way below the top three) because they just do not respect the B1G-T12N. The voters DO respect the Big-XII they just don't respect Baylor. If Oklahoma or Texas was 8-0 right now (instead of Baylor) the undefeated Big-XII team would be #2 in the BCS poll and Oregon would be looking up to them.

Of course, we'll never know how that alternate universe would have played out. I think for sure that much of Baylor's disrespect stems from the fact that they have yet to play Oklahoma and Oklhoma State. That all changes very quickly and should Baylor find a way to accomplish the impossible, the voters will respond in kind.

It's interesting. This time of year brings out interesting talk about college football especially with so many undefeated teams. What makes it even more interesting is that it is mathematically possible for those 5 undefeated teams to remain that way.

What does mathematics have to do with any team remaining undefeated?

It is (was) mathematically impossible for both Miami and FSU to finish the season undefeated.

It is mathematically possible for both FSU and Alabama to finish the season undefeated.

Whether they or any team finishes this or any season undefeated has got nothing to do with mathematics, fool, although I do understand that simple counting is about as complex a procedure as you can accomplish with numbers. But again, that's not mathematics...

It's grammatically possible that Alabama and FSU will go undefeated this year...

Mathematically impossible! At any rate, morally impossible...
